Yoshitaka Hikawa’s „Station 26“ is a space shuttle joyride. It’s pure ascension, the sound of gravity overcome. It’s luminous dashboards, green neon grids extending ever and infinitely outwards, motion-controlled holographic projections. It’s molten alien quicksilver seeping from a downed asteroid, lens flare on an astronaut’s visor. This music sounds like shattered light; weightless, refracted, glittering. Play this while you're waiting out decompression in airlock and having a really good heart-to-heart with your co-cosmonaut. Play this while you're up very far above.

Yoshitaka Hikawa is an artist based in Tokyo’s Nishiogikubo district. His music traverses wildly diverse sonic topography—harsh to heavenly, blissful to blistering, with tracks landing anywhere between laser-focused synth abstraction and reckless dancefloor pulverisation. Regardless of the form it ultimately takes, Hikawa makes music with one simple purpose: to “keep it real in health of mind and body”.

The songs comprising ‘Blush’ flicker and glow like captured moonlight. It’s a rush of nostalgia felt but vaguely recalled; visions of lost euphoria made bittersweet by time. On this project, Europa unravels highly recognisable lead melodies from decades past, re-forging and equipping them with sleek, metallic new musical armour built to defy time.

‘Exo’ ravily interpolates Salt-N-Pepa’s iconic ‘Push It’, while ‘Gazebo’ recontextualises universally beloved club masterpiece ‘I Remember’. The thick slabs of reinforced synth at the heart of ‘What’s This?’ flex and pulse in a show of contained force, a contrast to the soft landing of delicate closer ‘Little Crash’. This EP is a slow rush of concentrated pleasure, it tingles and squeezes and sighs — this EP is a blush.
