The dude giving the speech in the beginning was the leader of the cult I grew up in.  While writing this song I found out there was a whole community committed to keeping his thoughts alive. I grew up in the WCG (World wide church of God) they were obsessed with the end of the world, "beating the gay" out of people, steaming 30% of each persons income, and the celebration of ancient forgotten pre Christian rituals
