CSS080 features Skulptor, a solo-electronic-frequency project by NYC-based ai creative technologist and producer Ana Roman. Generative sound design, far future-latin soundscapes, deconstructed duende lost in oscillating rhythms, emotional dynamics, and sounds of near-future promises broken - but not all of them. Skulptor sparks a light in the dark with their own live sets - this one produced for cultivated sound lies witness to this in one take. Raw. Incidental. Gestural.

Opening the new era of our explorations in style is none other than Marijn S; a DJ and producer based in Amsterdam. As a student at conservatory Haarlem, Radio TNP affiliate and host, as well as one of the faces behind the independent record label and podcast Kulture Lab. On the latter, she has also released a few trippy & fast break tracks over the last 2Y and she’s currently working on her debut EP on SPRAY, next to her EP on Polychrome Audio, which you can get a few glimpses of tomorrow in de Muzieklokaal at LOCH INN.

Her DJ sets are all about merging sounds; from slow burners to fast-paced experimental oddities, creating special moments that are momentary, yet memorable. You can find her playing at radio stations such as Future Intel, Operator Radio, Echobox, Radio TNP, along with curating sonic explorations at clubs like RadioRadio, Club Atelier, and Studio K.

13歳で初めてTechnics 1210Sを購入、彼が育ったJutlandの静かな街でトランスやハードテクノをプレイし始め、27歳になった彼は今やコペンハーゲンのハウス・テクノシーンにおいての重要人物となった。
オープンエアパーティであるSøndagsvennerの一員であり、またハウスデュオMarc & Mikkelとしても活躍しており、コペンハーゲンのCulture BoxやJolene、ベルリンのDunkel clubでパーティを行っている。

-このミックスはどこで収録されたのですか？

1. 自宅のリビングで、Technics 1210Sとお気に入りのRodec MX180ミキサーを使って録音したんだ。ティーを飲みながらね。


-このmixを制作するにあたり、もしコンセプトがあればぜひ教えてください。

2. このmixを取る時の最初のアイデアはハウスとダブ・テクノをmixする事、殆どの人が僕のスタイルから想像するようなね。だけど正直に言うと僕のレコードコレクションはもっと多岐に渡るものなんだ。特に最近はテクノに傾倒していて、その辺りを着地点としてこのmixを作ったよ。


-最近の活動を教えて下さい。

3. 最近ヴァイナルとテープのレーベルInternational Sun-Earth Explorerをラウンチしたばかりで、ファースト・リリースは僕たちのローカルのハウス・エキスパートS.A.M. のTERMINAL EP、近日リリースされるPellarinのMONTPELLIER EPの他友人であるRouteなど、僕自身のレコード・コレクションのようにジャンルをまたいだたくさんのエキサイティングなリリースを予定しているよ。思うに良い音楽はジャンルを超える。だからレーベルの音楽形態を制限してしまわないように気を配っているんだ。
