In the 20th episode of the #Sonogramma podcast by the @ssi-records label, Ilia @symphocat presents recordings of fragments of live performances as part of the concert “Noiseroom” held at the Moscow Gallery Khodynka in October 2021.

The podcast features a joint showcase from the Moscow community Paleolight and the SSI label, which has absorbed live acts from the musical projects Symphocat, July In January x Waldgrenze, Podozritelny Predmet and Accasari. The Khodynka Gallery, which opened back in 1987, is a well-known cultural spot on the map of Moscow, including chamber exhibition and concert halls. The gallery hosts interdisciplinary exhibitions and concerts of experimental music.

Noiseroom – is a series of audiovisual concerts curated by SSI label and presenting a cross-section of experimental electronics, ambient and electroacoustic music, which started in 2014. Concerts are held with the participation of Russian and foreign musicians, video & performance artists. On the events, you can find both young and established artists. The ideology of the project can be described in several directions: it is the development of the Russian experimental music scene, familiarizing the audience with modern trends in audiovisual art, interaction with foreign musicians, the search for international dialogue between creative subcultures, as well as support and representation of Russian communities of musicians and video artists.

New mix from our “Retrospective” series is a tribute to Eduard Artemyev, who is celebrating his 80th birthday today (Born 30 November 1937 in Novosibirsk). He is a worldwide-known Soviet and Russian composer and electronic musician who scored over 200  films and theatrical plays including the famous works by Andrei Tarkovsky, Andrei Konchalovsky, Pavel Chukhray, Nikita Mikhalkov and many others.
Of all the Soviet composers, it's Eduard Artemyev who most in uenced the development of local electronic music. He was deeply involved into education, conducting his workshops and popularizing sonic experiments and sonic studies. Artemyev was one of the  rst operators of the cult synthesizer ANS, using the machine to record his soundtrack for Tarkovsky's “Solaris”. His other electronic works – for example, the soundtracks for “Stalker” or “Sibiriade” – today are considered the standards of the genre and are still being released on the various types of media.
Our mixtape is not only a retrospective of Eduard Artemyev's vast musical heritage, but also an excursion into the realms of his discography which still remain unknown to the wide audience. Thus, in addition to his key pieces from of cial releases, this mixtape also includes a lot of unreleased compositions as we handled almost the entire archive of his works cutting out sound tracks directly from rare  lms and documentaries.

Новый микс из серии «Ретроспектива» посвящен 80-летнему юбилею Эдуарда Николаевича Артемьева — советского и российского композитора и электронного музыканта, широкой публике известного прежде всего в качестве автора музыки к более чем двумстам фильмам и театральным постановкам — включая известнейшие киноленты Андрея Тарковского, Андрея Кончаловского, Павла Чухрая, Никиты Михалкова и многих других режиссеров.
Из всех советских композиторов именно Эдуард Николаевич больше всего повлиял на развитие отечественной электронной музыки. Он преподавал, проводил мастер-классы и занимался популяризацией экспериментов в области звука, работал с новыми устройствами — например, стал одним из первых операторов культового синтезатора АНС, записав с его помощью саундтрек к «Солярису» Тарковского. Его другие электронные работы — например, саундтреки к «Сталкеру» или «Сибириаде», сегодня считаются эталонами жанра и до сих пор выпускаются на всевозможных носителях по всему миру.
Наш микс — это не только ретроспектива обширного музыкального наследия Эдуарда Николаевича, но и экскурс в неизвестные широкой публике территории его дискографии. Так, кроме ключевых композиций с официальных релизов, в микс вошло множество неизданного материала — мы переработали практически весь архив кинохроники, «вырезая» звуковые дорожки напрямую из документальных и художественных фильмов.

Biosphere is the main recording name of Geir Jenssen (born 1962), a Norwegian musician who has released a notable catalogue of ambient music. He is well known for his early "ambient techno" aesthetic and later for his "arctic ambient" style, his use of music loops, and peculiar samples from sci-fi sources. His track "Novelty Waves" was used for the 1995 campaign of Levi's. His 1997 album Substrata was voted by www.hyperreal.org  as one of the all time classic ambient albums. But over the last few years his albums (such as Cirque, Shenzou, Autour de la lune, Dropsonde and N-plants) have embodied some touches of jazz, classical, drone and even some dub-techno. Hidekazu Imashige aka Gallery Six is an artist and composer who is based on Miyoshi Hiroshima, Japan.

He began his career as a musician playing drums in some bands, then in 2008, he started making ambient music releasing “Invisible” EP on Twisted Tree Line (UK), “Element Perspective 071” on Element Perspective (Japan) and some self-released albums.

In 2010, Gallery Six with other artists have formed “ArtLism.JP”, is an art group, made up of musician, photographer and film director, met together under the concept of interplay between “Art + Altruism”.

Based on his theme “Multidirectionally considering aesthetics which are very familiar, often forgotten, concealed in nature or events, and finally reveal them”, he has been making ‘sound sketches’ mixing drone sounds mainly created from synthesizer and materials field-recorded when he goes wherever his heart leads.

Hidekazu Imashige (aka Gallery Six) 는 일본 히로시마, 미요시에서 활동하는 아티스트이자 작곡가이다. 그는 뮤지션으로서의 경력을 밴드에서의 드러머로 시작했으며, 2008년 그는 영국의 Tweisted Tree Line 에서 "Invisible" EP 를, 일본의 Element Perspective 에서 "Element Perspective 071" 과 더불어 몇 개의 셀프 릴리즈를 발표하며 앰비언트 음악을 만들기 시작했다. 

2010년 Gallery Six 와 몇몇의 아티스트들은 사진가와 영화 감독, 뮤지션으로 구성된 아트 그룹 "ArtLism.JP" 를 조직했다. 그리고 Art 와 Altruism 사이의 어떤 지점에서 함께해왔다.

그는 "우리와 매우 친숙하며 때로는 잊혀지고 자연이나 사건에 숨어있는 것을 다방향적으로 고려하며, 그리고 마침내 그것을 찾아내는 것" 의 신념을 기반으로, 그의 마음이 이끄는대로, 주로 신디사이저와 필드 레코딩으로 만든 드론 사운드를 믹싱하여 사운드 스케치들을 만들어낸다.
