Live and studio project created in September 2009 by musicians Nicolò Tucci and Sabrina Ferro from Bologna (ITA), Dub Engine is part of the last generation of dub producers who know how to feed their work with various music genres.

While keeping the uniqueness of reggae/dub music unimpaired, they tinge their sound according to the contemporary punk and dubstep movement which surrounds them.

With a great complicity, the couple develops a powerful music, supported by winds, strings and percussions leaning on a massive sub bass, kick drum and wobbles synths.

Deeply influenced by UK & French new millenium dub era (Iration Steppas, Bush Chemists, Kanka, Dub Machinist, Dubkasm, Skream) they started to evolve their live show towards a new "psycho-dubstep" way, merging the hypnotic energy of dub music with militant-warrior style typical of dubstep music.

Revealed in 2010 with a 8-track release under free Creative Commons licence on "Irie On Air" net-label , they appeared on several european compilations before signing "Rude Boy" in 2011 on Dubatriation Records, their first 7" vinyl release.

“Balkan Reggae” found Mahala Rai Banda paying homage to their soul brothers in Jamaica. In the year that Jamaica celebrated 50 years of independence MRB embraced their Jamaican musical brethren by inviting several top Dub remixers like Mad Professor, Jstar and Nick Manasseh to give their Romanian Reggae tune a sonic turbo charge. KINGSTON, JAMAICA - Culture lovers worldwide have already picked up on the scent. Something special is happening in Jamaica as homegrown music makes its long-awaited return to roots. As a testament to this, DJ Yaadcore has released his new mix, Reggae Aroma (Volume 2) - #theRevival.

The ongoing Reggae Revival movement in Jamaica has achieved global visibility due to the emergence of a number of young musical acts. The names Protoje, Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Jah9, Raging Fyah, Romain Virgo, Tarrus Riley, Keida, Jesse Royal and Iba MaHr are a few that readily come to mind. Reggae Aroma (Volume 2) - #theRevival is laced with contemporary hits by these "Revivalists" as well as more experienced conscious acts such as Chuck Fenda, Anthony B, Sizzla Kalonji and Damian Marley.

Yaadcore himself has been at the forefront of the movement, deep in the trenches of the airwaves, and is credited for being the first to ever play a Chronixx or Kabaka Pyramid song on national radio. His new program on Hot 102 FM is also called Reggae Aroma, which airs Thursday nights (or early Friday mornings) from 12:30am to 2:00am.

KINGSTON, JAMAICA - Protoje, lead singer for The Indiggnation band, is preparing to release a new mixtape called Music From My Heart. It will be available as of June 14, commemorating of the start of the band's summer tour schedule.

Protoje & The Indiggnation will head to the United States this week for multiple west coast events including California where they will perform at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival. The eight-member band will travel to Europe thereafter.

Music From My Heart combines tracks from The 8 Year Affair album with additional tracks featuring Sizzla Kalonji, Kabaka Pyramid, Chronixx and Jah9. It is mixed by DJ Yaadcore, who is also responsible for Protoje's two previous mixtapes. Yaadcore is the selector for the I&I Worldwide sound system and also airs his radio program, Reggae Aroma, on HOT 102FM.
