After two releases on the Marée Bass label, the French producer, Javinz, lands on Culture Dub Records with a third release that is darker than the previous ones, available for Free Download, of course.

Still driven by an electronic base blending synth layers and Dub, “Sauvage” stands out through the introduction of saturated riffs and more organic tension. Six tracks oscillate between hypnotic rhythms and more aggressive builds, conveying a more visceral energy like an immersion into a gray zone that is instinctive, both melancholic and furious!

He is a Dub maker from the Nantes region, Javinz first trained in classical piano at the conservatory for many years before starting to compose in the styles he is most passionate about. After several years of experimenting with different sounds, Dub naturally established itself as the foundation of his compositions, though that doesn’t stop him from drawing inspiration from other realms, tinged with Lo-fi, Bass Music, and Electro…

After the success of 'Foxy Way' in 2023, the producer Shanks from Franche-Comté returns with a second EP on the Culture Dub Records label, once again blending hypnotic Jamaican skanks with melodic Electro Dub. 'Fragments of Earth' is a journey filled with acoustic textures inspired by musical traditions from around the world, a Dub of movement, contrasts, and warmth, as introspective as it is captivating, and of course, always available for free download!

Thomas felt in love with nagging jamaican skanks since from his earliest age and beggan producing 5 years ago, alone in his room at the beggining. Musically self-taught, he created a melodic Dub, centered aroung organic leads. A music which wants you well, here is Shanks' motto... Dub also means bass generously provided here !

"Shanks" because at the beginning, I thought we said "shanksing" instead of "skanking"...

In 2023, Shanks released his first EP 'Foxy Way' on Culture Dub Records, setting the tone: a mix of digital Dub with a variety of styles and sounds from across the globe. Shanks aims to play with the genre’s structure to achieve a highly diverse sound. The result is dynamic and festive music that you can easily sway to. 

With 'Fragments of Earth', he invites us on a sonic journey driven by a solid and danceable electronic kick/bass foundation, built around melodic riffs and acoustic textures inspired by musical traditions from all over the world. Percussion, strings, and vocals resonate in a modern soundscape, creating a fusion of ancestral music and contemporary electronic aesthetics!

Dubtrakz Sound System est né d'une association de deux amis, Madmax et Calu, passionnés par la culture Reggae et l'ambiance transmise par ses activistes… Ils ont ensemble fabriqué leur sono et sortent leurs scoops dès qu’ils le peuvent pour partager leurs sélections préférées.

Le riddim a été produit par les Basskateers... Le Culture Dub Sound l'a longtemps joué en compagnie de Sista Bethsabée lors de leur tournée Sound/Live de 2014 à 2016... Jusqu'à ce que Bethsabée enregistre un titre avec le crew allemand du côté de Jena lors de son passage en Allemagne avec le Culture Dub Sound, pour la sortie du 10" Culture Dub Records CDR007 sur lequel on retrouve Basskateers, Sista Bethsabée, Sticky Joe, Becky  et J. Deux ans après le succès de leur premier EP, c'est avec enthousiasme que le duo Strawdogz présente ce 24 août 2020 le titre ‘Salute The Youth' en compagnie de Joseph Cotton et Yaway, annonçant la sortie de l'EP "Dogstepperz #2" le 7 septembre prochain… Du Digital Dub Steppa aux basses profondes, groovant et entrainant, à écouter exclusivement inna Culture Dub !

Originaires de Vannes, en Bretagne, les deux acolytes de Strawdogz se retrouvent dans l’est parisien pour produire leur son au studio Lighthouse de Montreuil. Comme d'autres avant eux, c'est après avoir usé leurs semelles dans différents clubs et Sound Systems de France et d'Europe qu'ils décident de composer de la musique ensemble pour faire danser les foules.

Strawdogz est un projet crossover mélangeant divers univers tels que le Dub, l’Electro, la Bass Music et le Hip-Hop. Le son singulier de Strawdogz allie samples, scratches, basslines analogiques et rythmes digitaux.

En décembre 2018 Strawdogz nous délivraient "Dogstepperz #1" sur le label Maha Mila, petite pépite qui en a surpris plus d'un, avec des featurings en compagnie de Pupa Jim, Sunman et Troy Berkley !

Dans l'attente de "Dogstepperz #2" qui sortira ce 7 Septembre 2020, avec des featuring légendaires tels Horace Andy et Killa P, Strawdogz et Culture Dub vous offrent un premier extrait en exclusivité...

‘Runaway’ and ‘Burn Down Babylon’ are the result of the meeting between Le Lab and Tawam. They are two high-quality songs for the Sound Systems. Between sunny One Drop and militant Stepper, “Le Lab meets Tawam” is the new release of the Culture Dub Records netlabel, of course for free download!

Le Lab is the experimentation ground of two young producers, Pierre and Roméo, Dub and electronic music lovers. After several years of prototypes, crash tests and experiments with uncertain outcomes, a first album, “Sound Chemistry”, was released on the Marée Bass label. Le Lab is back, this time for a meeting with the singer Tawam, two songs sung and dub, in the pure tradition of Extented Versions!

Tawam is a young multi-instrumentalist singer, who collaborates for the first time with producers from the Dub environment. Tawam's ideas were put together at Le Lab to create the track 'Runaway', where he offered a vocal performance inspired by Jamaican vocal trios such as The Wailers, The Heptones and U-Roy's toast. A sunny One Drop that ends with a misty extended part to the delight of the Sound Systems.

"Burn Down Babylon" takes up the theme of the track "Alpha Dub" from the album "Sound Chemistry" released in September 2019. Tawam reclaims this Stepper and makes it a Rasta hymn to the Babylon system and the frustrations it engenders.
