Cuore Records continue their back to basics and staunchly underground ideals with a new EP from Argentina born, Leeds based talent Rui-Z, and remixer Benjamin Fröhlich.

Having previously working in other genres, Rui-Z turned to dance music in 2016 and has a boundless energy and an infectious enthusiasm that landed him an EP on 20/20 Vision Recordings and a string of remixes alongside the legendary Ralph Lawson. The Cuore label meanwhile has been going from strength to strength with Laurent Garnier and Colin Dale ranked amongst their fans.

German artist and Permanent Vacation co-founder Benjamin Fröhlich, adds a great groove and acid touch to the original that takes the tune to a higher state of consciousness.

Glaswegian space-funkateer Am$trad Billionaire returns after years of traversing through retro-cyber galaxies, making more aggressive acquisitions in one day than Lord Sugar does in a year. His last trip was 'Galaxy 500’. It took us all to far-off places and was a bit of a big deal… Especially the lead track ‘The Plan’.

Picked up by Solomun years after its 2013 release, ‘The Plan’ was licenced for his GTA After Hours mix and gave the track a whole new lease of life. But, like all good entrepreneurs, Am$trad Billionaire (boardroom name: Jamie Miller in case you ever do business with him) is back with another investment opportunity: ‘Outer Limits’.

A project in four parts that spirals deep into his cosmic sonic universe. Once again, the man with the plan delivers and returns are guaranteed. His salubrious space funk will seal the deal with any dancefloor as each part of the EP charms us around a different corner of his sprawling, synth-heavy style.

‘Part I’ warms up the proposal with a touch of Italo diplomacy, unhurried, disarming. ‘Part II’ raises the urgency. He’s sucked you into his pitch with the dreamy synths and he’s backing it with those driving breakbeats. ‘Part III’ gives you space to digest his offer. Slower, funkier with looser drums and bubbly electro boogie edge that gets freakier the deeper into the negotiation we get before. Then finally, ‘Part IV’ builds slowly with pops and struts before a set of triumphant strings sweep in and seal the deal. Pure business; all the way those opening 909s right through to the final synth flurry.

Another day, another dollar. A billion thumbs up.

Cuore Records’ next EP features two stunning tracks from Oslo producer Terje Saether with a brilliant remix from the legendary Silicone Soul.
Terje Saether is a producer from the cold, dark north raised in the wilds of Norway with a love for all sounds electronic. After growing up with the music of the Pet Shop Boys, the KLF and Leftfield, amongst others, he has spent a decade making deep, atmospheric house and techno built on techy grooves and peppered with minimal bleeps and beeps. He has released music on the likes of Nick Warren's Renaissance Masters Series, Darkroom Dubs and many more.
Lush opener 'Ende' is seven minutes of doleful chords draped over supple, hypnotic drums. Muffled vocals drift in and out, and pixelated leads rise out of the groove to add another layer of emotional depth to this most tasteful of tunes.
The second innovative original is 'Disemvowel', a darker, more brooding track that keeps you in suspense. Cosmic keys twirling up top and frazzled synths add to the tension of this perfectly tasteful and slow-burning dancefloor weapon.
To complete the package we have Scottish pair Craig Morrison and Graeme Reedie AKA Silicone Soul, long-time masters of immersive and hypnotic house on their own Darkroom Dub and generally an influential pair who have always been a key part of the conversation. Their remix of ‘Ende’ is a silky deep house track with real bite in the kicks. Cosmic vocal mutterings, distant synth motifs and ambient pads all making it a soothing place to get lost in the groove.
These are majestic new tracks for the more heady dancefloors out there.

London pair Metropolitan Soul Museum land on Cuore with another of their fully formed EPs, this time with a remix from Iron Curtis.
This London based duo is made up of Nick of Akra, and Filippo, who first linked up in 2015 and have released an array of outstanding records including the standout ‘Tesla’ EP on Toy Tonics. The pair make melodic electronic music which encourages you to dream which has found favour with an array of established names such as Tom Trago, Chaos in the CBD, Detroit Swindle and Roman Fluegel.
This lush new EP kicks off with 'Floaters' a deep but heavy track with rich bass and a fine lead melody that takes you on an inward journey. It's subtle but impactful and filled with style. Iron Curtis is a long time underground talent who releases on cult labels like Smallville and runs Achterbahn D'Amour with his longtime friend Jool aka Edit Piafra. His version on ‘Floaters’ is rock solid, with chunky kicks and scattered claps getting you in a deep state of trance while the delicate vocal sounds pan around the mix next to a rousing lead.
The next brilliant original is 'Birdland' which is an intelligent, Detroit inspired track of melodic, rhythmic, syncopated deep techno that really sings. Lastly, 'The Unexpected Return' is a hugely atmospheric and beautifully peaceful ambient track with gorgeous synth arps to close out a cultured EP.
