This music is rooted in House, built on steady four-on-the-floor rhythms, warm basslines and fluid grooves designed for continuous movement. Modern electronic elements — clean synths, deep chords and subtle arpeggios — are blended with organic textures and natural sounds that feel alive rather than decorative. Percussion breathes, rhythms flow, and space is used intentionally, allowing the music to feel human and grounded instead of mechanical. Concept / Meaning

This music speaks about Gaia as a living presence, not as an idea, but as the ground that sustains and remembers everything. It explores the invisible relationship between the body and the Earth — how movement, rhythm and breath mirror natural cycles. Rather than escaping reality, the music reconnects the listener with where life begins: soil, water, warmth and gravity. It invites awareness, care and belonging, reminding us that every step, every dance and every heartbeat happens on living ground. It is music about connection, responsibility and quiet power — the Earth moving through us as much as we move upon it.

Firstly, as a matter of fact, the name you see highlighted in the podcast isn't related exactly to a person, because 'Basy Tropikalne' is a Poland-based platform that has been promoting and showcasing contemporary electronic music on a weekly basis since 2015, mainly Latin America and African music, the only Polish digital radio show dealing with such repertoire. However, behind every project there is always one or more heads, in this case, Mikołaj Kierski. The 27 years old Polish who got really involved and has been dedicating his free time to make it happen, manages 'Basy Tropikalne' under several lines: radio show, netlabel, event promoter and bookings. With two Latin American compilations (2016 & 2019) filled with previously unreleased tracks by artists as Kaleema, Klik & Frik, Lagartijeando and Cigarra, and having over 200 live radio shows on his bag, Mikołaj is one of those multipliers, passionate and dedicated people who surrender to the shock of culture.

Advised to stay at home, since Poland is now on lockdown in an attempt to stop the COVID-19' spreading infection, Mikołaj spent a lot of time cooking a 62-min selection as our 170th edition, recording it last Sunday's evening in his own room. Inspired by his first experience playing a DJ set at a club, he took the vibrant route in getting people to move their bodies. Using voice samples drone on and on in hypnotic loops and a bass-chaser straightforward in-your-face- attitude, Mikołaj transits through boundaries and territories which the platform has been expanding over the five years. Somehow, blurring the line between personal and project, it cannot be said that the final result comes from himself or from the experiences assimilated being at the head of Basy Tropikalne, and regardless of this puzzle the selection captures an excellent cut of vivid, energetic music in a way that's also spiritually correct.

Cup of Jazz aka Jazzylectro started djing in Berlin Bars and Clubs in 2005 - with a record by Fred Astaire. Maybe that's why Jazz became a major influence for him. In his dj-sets he often combines Electro sounds whith those from the eras of Swing and Latin Jazz, calling his style 'Jazzylectro' - kickin' beats from HipHop to House and Drum'n'Bass, mixed with delicious jazzy vibes. At Berlin Swing events he creates a set with BigBand-Swing bombs, Dixieland and Charleston rockers. As a journalist for different newspapers he regurlarly interviews celebrities, djs and producers of the music he's got in his record bag.
