'Oceans' is an attempt to get to terms with an unavoidable goodbye. 
It is fueled by loss and devastation, feeling rejected and torn apart because of the pain. Progressing, however, it transforms into gratefulness for the beautiful experience of true intimacy and closeness. This song serves as a personal reminder to staying open and vulnerable as a way of life.

I’ve struggled with putting words to my music since I started producing, it’s always been something I’ve wanted to do but could never follow through on. I started to push myself to write more last year and Back For More was the first song that I really wanted to get out to the world.

‘Riddled Form’ is Merci Jitter’s analytical-take on compilation-like formats. Continually motivated by multiculturalism, the project collates a set of tracks from a handful of international artists. Presenting a more emotive-form of club music, one that oozes with urgency - the London-based platform now looks towards the current state of things and reflects on a generation that is considerably at odds with itself.

Riddled with angst, anxiety, world conflicts and social media, ‘Riddled Form’ investigates how this generation interacts and grows within this ambiguous environment. Exploring ideas of hedonism, introspection and frustrations towards technology, artificiality and reality - the compilation showcases harsh yet subtle compositions that subconsciously underline the aforementioned thematics. The 10-track project points fingers in both ambiguous and subjective ways, each track succeeds itself in a narrative fashion and gives new meaning to each other along the way.

Release Info:
We are very excited to present you this new signing and debut EP by Dampé. A studio and live project from South East London. Since moving to the city, Dampé has been intimately involved in its club culture – from running warehouse spaces and booking venues to DJing and performing in groups across the city and Europe, under a slew of different aliases.

The music is made on a boat on the Thames and is a combination of dusty analogue gear, live instrumentation, and samples. For Dampé, influential parties were “Co-Op, FWD>>” and “You're A Melody” and echoes of those dances can almost be felt in the sound. Across five original tracks, the EP explores weirder and worldlier ends of house music, all with a nod to undeniably UK sounds.

“Peach Shuffle” is a made-for-the-floor, broken beat work-out that has this great warped and chopped Persian vocal sample giving the track a unique and world-wide touch, followed by “St James’ Road”, a crunchy live Rhodes jam and ode to a favourite street south of the river. “Move Me” is all garage-infused vocal loops and singing bowls and acts as an experiment-come-DJ tool. “Carn” is a super-swung hip hop beat featuring “SMBD” aka “Simbad” providing additional keys. Closing out with “Zongo Junction, At Night”, a late night roller with material pieced together from saturated CR 78 samples and field recordings made when Dampé was recording sound for a film about witchcraft and the internet across rural Ghana.

To round up this exciting EP we ask a fellow SE London enthusiast “Nebraska” to make a remix of the title track “Peach Shuffle”. Cutting up the vocal of the original, adding some mean bass and pouring a smooth “dance floor” sauce over it. The delicious end result is something we are very proud off and we hope you will enjoy as much as we do!

Thoughts. is the main single out of the new EP by Chromonicci "Peaceful Places" and it's a marvelous song that will take you on a daydreaming trip like walking on clouds made out of marshmallows. The whole EP is a ticket to your inner temple and will help you find a bit of peace in an otherwise hectic world we live.

Loya’s critically acclaimed 2018 album Corail gathered wide support from the press (XLR8R, Les Inrocks, Nova, RFI) and was celebrated as one of the best electronic records of 2018 by Trax Magazine. Now, Loya and Mawimbi Records are proud to present the remixed version of the album, featuring cuts from Dengue Dengue Dengue, Africaine 808, Alma Negra, Pigmaliao, Roscius, Pouvoir Magique, Tim Karbon and Loâzo.

For context, Loya is a project by La Réunion-native Sébastien Lejeune dedicated to unearthing musical traditions from the Indian Ocean (séga, maloya and tsapiky) and combining them with contemporary electronic music.

The remix package is quite diverse. A few of the remixers remained faithful to Loya’s triple time beats and emotional synth motifs, some made forays into slow-motion acid house, others seemed to take influence from UK techno and dancehall, and the rest being tasteful reworks or straight up bangers.

Pigmaliao’s remix of “Amba” takes a less experimental approach than the original, putting forth a more easily danceable groove. As the drums chug along, distorted keys, chopped vocals, and a bubbling acid line evoke a trippy calm, one that might seem familiar for anyone who’s come down from an LSD or mushroom trip. For the DJs, this one is well suited for warm-up sets or for more esoteric radio play. However you choose to use it, it’s certainly one to have in the arsenal.
