Absorbing Colin’s musical output intensely over the past few days. I’m so grateful that he was so prolific and opened so much of himself up to all of us. These songs particularly help me right now, they remind me of conversations we would have about music, mostly his excitement for the latest piece he had finished. I would often tell him that I hadn’t even got to the last two releases he just put out. I always listened to him, deeply. This was a hard mix for me. It’s taken several days and painful nights, but I think it’s really essential right now, especially for people who want him close but either can’t emotionally handle the process of digging through his archives or just don’t know where to begin. I cried the entire time. I’m still sobbing. The hardest part about making the mix was ending it. I didn’t want it to end, I just want it to go on forever. I know it will, I know there’s still so much to be discovered. Thankfully he meant so much to so many people, I look forward to every mix that comes out. The best part is I doubt any two would be the same, this barely scrapes the surface. He is that beautiful and inspiring. That powerful.
