What is the name that I still don’t know?

Over the last few months we've been quietly archiving all of the amazing music that gets shared at Paradise every weekend and we're now ready to slowly share those magic moments with the rest of the world.

Our inaugural recording comes courtesy of a first time B2B session that occurred between Josh Cheon of @darkentriesrecords and @barparttime's co-founder @jeremy_castillo at the Bar Part Time x Open Ferment afterparty on September 9, 2022.

Paradise Archives Vol. 1 with Josh Cheon B2B Jeremy Castillo

It is our deepest pleasure to share the next mix in this series by our dear friend, the very talented producer, Dj and all round super nice dude @romainfx852.

Much like a slowly rising sun and a day's wonder, this mix intends to caress your soul in the morning, setting the stage for a joyful day ahead. It includes some oddballs because life has its quirks, and it naturally extends until you're ready to settle down with "un verre de vin" at night.

Romain FX, a passionate music enthusiast with a wide range of creative projects, serves as a producer, remixer, editor, and graphic designer. Romain operates his own record label (Fauve Records), and runs Fauve Radio with other dedicated music enthusiasts worldwide to organize events and podcasts, aiming to bridge the gap between the Asian and European music scenes. Having grown up in Asia and being born in France, he embodies both worlds, contributing to the cultural exchange in the most humble way possible. We hope you enjoy this selection as much as we do. Recorded live at Giant Steps on Easter Sunday, 31 March 2024.

The clocks went forward. The speakers were still moving. (They don’t call it a travelling sound system for nothing.) Once the sound settled and after a needle change or two, the dancers flooded in and the sun dipped out of sight.

This recording picks up from about that moment. Just a fun, loose energy from a crowd that knew Monday was a freebie. Flowing between groovers and steppers as the night got extended (twice). 

We felt the love and gratitude, and hope you enjoy the listen back.

Proto Mix 002 - Ani Phoebe

London based producers, visual artists and DJ duo, Good Block have been throwing parties in the capital for nearly 15 years. Hosting the likes of Ramzi, Mogwaa, Jex Opolis, Gabrielle Kwarteng, Jamie Tiller, Zaltan, Bufiman, Jon K, Cosmic Slop, Bradley Zero, Apiento, Bahamian Moor, Trujillo, Jonny Rock and many more. 

In 2018 the duo started a very popular dropbox folder of free edits which slowly continues to expand. With a string of productions and remixes on the likes of Isle Of Jura, Emotional Response, Planet Trip, Heels & Souls and Duca Bianco they also released three EPs - 4 Corners, Aquaculture and Naiad / Dryad on their own imprint.

On 20th March 2025 the duo will debut their full length album ‘Window’ a collection of works recorded between 2017 - 2024 representing hours of musical experimentation and emerging from the many influences that have shaped their sound. The album will be available on limited edition double gatefold vinyl and full digital release, with artwork by the duo.

I had such a lovely time putting this mix together! It's got all the signs of a tried and true Pacific Coliseum mix: housey beats, lots of percussion, jazzy pianos. It's all in there baby! I tried to capture that moment in a party where it turns from warm-up to peak time.

I love playing warm up sets (promoters get in touch ;), and getting to help people lock in is such an enjoyable experience for me. This mix is a great expression of that!
