Believe it or not it's been over 10 years since I’ve put together a recorded mix which I'm very ashamed to admit, after all it was my mix appearances on the radio, park jams or warehouses that originally establish my reputation well before I officially gained any type of DJ title! This mix is the 3rd in a series I've titled the missing mixes, its my apology to the my real Hip Hop family that encouraged and fuelled my creative ideas throughout the best parts of my career, I hope you all enjoy my selection of music which has always been down to personal taste, a responsibility that most of today's DJ’s seem to have forgotten, we play what we like not for popularity or beacuse we're told too, after all that's the way it's meant to be or what would be the point putting your name to something that everybody else has done before in the same old industry style!?! Finally some of the technical skill I demostrate throughout this mix for the unaware I PIONEERED them 20 + years ago, you’ve just been enforced! CMS The Missing Mix Volumes No.3 (2010)

This is a live radio mix dubbed from my personal audio cassette collection! DJ Pogo and myself were invited to Greater London Radio just after I won the DMC World Championships 21 years ago! As you can hear this performance was far more technical and ground breaking at that time than my DMC World winning set, in fact I choose not to use these records in that world final set as I'm a firm believer that to be the best you couldn't be predictable and certainly not repetitive. I did however use only one record from this performance which was my droping science rountine some may say I was beat juggling to be honest we were all doing beats I just pioneered a new approach to it which I called the copycat, again many know it as the chase! Customised records and enhanced mixers with super slick faders were things at that time we could only dream of, maybe that is why our time is referred too as the Golden age, just ideas and raw skills, enjoy!



Cutmaster Swift & DJ Pogo live on GLR Radio With George Kaye (1989)

A  lost recorded practice session of No Parkin' & myself, be warned it gets very rough and raw at the end as I was trying to perfect my own inovation to GrandWizard Theordore's Needle Drop! The idea was to speed up the transforming with both the fader and record, while trying to keep the vocal melodic! Instead of lifting the needle I would surf/skip the record back & forth! I never ever perfected it and yes it did scew up both the record and needle! This was before customising skipless was a reality, if you listen hard enough maybe you'll pickout the idea? Enjoy!

Invited to the studios of LBC radio, No Parkin' perform one of there unreleased joints Bring Forth,  what 's also was interesting is my views of current state of the UK Hip Hop Battle DJ's at that time. Enjoy!

Cutmaster Swift & No Parkin Live on LBC Radio Mike Allen (1988)

My 1st ever appearance on Radio 1! This was a big deal 22 years ago as Radio 1 is the UK's top radio station and certainly didn't play Hip Hop in the capacity it does today, how times have changed! DMC was know as the Disco Mix Club and it's competitors where mainly club DJ's! Chad Jackson was The World Champion and the catalyst for us street DJ's at the time as we honestly had no interest in entering DMC, my sights where firmly set on the New Music Seminar in the US but after some hard convincing &amp; seeing Pogo after his heat victory I knew I had to enter! This recording isn't the live orginal recording by the way as the cheap stylus I used distorted the recordings so DMC gave me a pair of Santon 500, the equipment is the same GLI 9000 Mixer which can be seen during the 87' &amp; 88' World finals I was familar with it but certainly couldn't afford one! Again you can hear the Copycat being performed in a appropriate style to compliment the music, remember this was when DJ's were still using all sorts of gimmicks to scratch with! Enjoy.
