Ronnie Spiteri brings some new, serious summer heat on his own Kenja Records imprint. The Southampton local has been busy during lockdown, working on a heap of new music for his own imprint, with some class collabs and remixes to add to the mix. After the first gig back at Fabric this last weekend, 2021 looks to be shaping up nicely for the humble house producer. 'All I Need' delivers pure peak time pleasure as one would expect from the exciting UK based DJ/producer. Expect serious bass synth filth action here, driven by a pounding kick, tight percussion and sweet female vocal. Class. A proper banger! 'Relentless' is the flip side, AA side nugget that goes deeper into tech as it layers lush pads, a shuffling techy groove another wicked vocal. On remix duties is none other than Josh Butler! World-class in every way his remix is groovy, a journey into deep tech with super tight percussion, a funky bassline, rolling percussion and trippy fx'd pads. Returning to Saved Records for the first time since 2013, Berlin based soundwizard Santé delivers a quality two-track EP of subterranean, bass-driven techno.

“Ghostwriter” is a highly hypnotic, heady and underground tech cut drives with a relentless energy. Build around a stabbing bassline, pounding 4/4s and fluttering synths, the track locks into a magnetizing groove. As the track evolves, the German producer eases in some fuzzy, warm electronics and lush pads, creating a subtle interplay with the intense, druggy layers that lay beneath.

“Stay” is underpinned by a devastatingly simple yet hugely addictive rolling bassline. As the bass grumbles below, punchy beats plough forward alongside loopy FX and soulful vocals. Stripped back at times but showing a matured proclivity for shifting through the gears, the track builds tension without ever spilling over into chaos.

Headz up! Guti’s current club cutter ‘Red Eye’ continues to wriggle and writhe its way hypnotically into our sets and psyches with these two crucial versions from one of house and techno’s most respected gentlemen… The one and only Kenny Larkin.

Weighing in at a combined length of 20+ minutes, both remixes capture the Detroit legend at his deepest and most cosmic with his hands glued to the dials. Not just part of the biggest single from Guti’s ‘Year Of The Conga’ album so far, they also tell a unique tale of their own…

These mixes were originally meant for the full release earlier this year, alongside killer mixes from Loco Dice and Priku. But when Larkin received a shiny new Moog One he rang Guti and label bosses the Martinez Brother and told them that they’d have to wait… He was about go back in with a whole new modular perspective.

You can feel it, too; that deep throb on the subs and trippy psychedelic swirls of his ‘Black Eye’ mix and that wobbling voluptuous bassline in his ‘Pink Eye’ mix are just two examples of Kenny’s attention to sonic detail and pure analogweight on these two immersive, alluring remixes.

Well worth the wait, and another precision chapter to the beautiful back-to-roots adventure that is Guti’s third artist album ‘Year Of The Conga’, don’t sleep on these… They’re going out strictly as Record Store Day specials. Vinyl crew, this one’s for you.

The Martinez Brothers' definitive Cuttin Headz label welcomes infamous electronic music icon Jonny White (AKA Art Department) to their diverse imprint with his new EP 'Shame' - a wicked and rambunctious two-tracker slated for release on June 28.
