Moscow returns for its 26th release with two long-awaited originals courtesy of label boss and founder Archie Hamilton.

Lead track ‘Waisted’ is a vibrant and rolling dance floor ready weapon, a powerful slice of the signature Archie Hamilton sound and groove geared for peak-time energy. ‘Quicksand’ on the B-side is a blissed out and intricate cut, layered with deep acid spirals and glistening vocals.

Following on from a steady and successful string of releases on the imprint last year including Argy’s ‘Sing It’ EP and Archie’s collaborative ‘Swerve’ EP with cousin Benson Herbert, this year marks Moscow’s tenth year of pushing alternative sounds since 2009.

Sanity label boss Cuartero debuts on Hottrax imprint with ‘Balaba’, featuring two bustling house cuts. 

Spanish producer Cuartero has been serving up a solid string of releases with a whirlwind of DJ performances over the last twelve months spanning Europe, South America, and the USA. Making recent appearances labels like Edible, What NxT and Cinthie’s Beste Freunde, last year also saw Cuartero release on Hot Creations. He now joins Hottrax, another one of Jamie Jones’ imprints, following releases from East End Dubs, Christian Burkhardt, and 9th House. 
 
‘Balaba’ opens the EP with bouncing acid bass, shuffling hats, perky snares and an attention grabbing vox-stab that carries the energy right through. ‘Come On Closer’ then sweeps in with tight drum programming, thumping sub groove, echoing stereo effects, vocal hooks and subtle percussive clicks. 
 
Cuartero ‘Balaba’ drops on Hottrax on 18th October 2019.

Making his debut on Libero, Oxford-based Gibraltarian producer, Jezen. Following on from an impressive stream of releases, ‘The Things You Know’ EP delivers an exceptional combination of original club cuts, both tracks already played by Marco Carola, Loco Dice and more - supplemented by a remix from Leicestershire talents, Murphy’s Law.

‘Like You Should’ takes the shape of a late-night mood setter. A quintessential Music On-esque number - often a treat for the earlier dancefloor descendants - comprising a potent mixture of percussive factors, punchy kicks, and crisp rhythms. Throwing a pinch of the early 2010s deep house flavour in with its bassline and synth melodies; a steady groover that leaves a lasting effect.

‘The Things You Know’ turns the momentum up slightly, adding more roll and shuffle into the mix. Crammed with atmospheric scenes and injections of cadent flair. Continuing the fashion of strong, reminiscent melodic undertones, yet another standout track with indisputable impact.

Completing the triple threat, Murphy’s Law remix of the title track injects yet another layer of energy into the release. A robust adaptation of ‘The Things You Know’ with a constant, blistering low end and raw harmonics offer a gritty alternative to an already definitive piece of music. With hints of UK Tech character dotted throughout, the increasingly-popular duo rounds off the release nicely.

A trusted provider of acclaimed sets, having played nearly every club and festival across the globe. Key milestones from Joey’s career include releases on some of the biggest labels in the scene including Moon Harbour, Get Physical, Knee Deep In Sound, Snatch!, Do Not Sleep and elrow alongside sold out performances at the BPM Festival, elrow Barcelona, Time Warp, Awakenings and Space & Amnesia in Ibiza. The ‘Upper Down East’ EP is indictive of Joey’s signature sound, infusing rolling basslines, hypnotic drum loops, shuffling percussion, trippy synth patterns and a grooving low-end. Enjoy!
