First up we’ve got Freshly Dipped repeat offender @TowlieDJ. This time he’s been buffing his brass and delivered a slab of instrumental funk, polished off with some J5 goodness. 

The head honcho @RoastBeatz has finally gotten off his fat arse and contributed to something. He’s extracted some funky licks from the JB’s and smothered Jay Z steez all over the top. 

Back once again is Cuttin’ It Fine long-term offender, @frankee_more. He’s slowed it down and taken on a Dr Dre heater. We know Frankee’s up to the challenge. The end results… Neck Snappingly Delicious! 

Rounding of this collaboration of heat are our good friends @crashparty They’ve taken an ozzie classic Front Row, spiced it up and added some perky wobbles taboot! This one has been doing damage in streams and will continue on the dancefloor! Yay!

This EP has been on the cards since Swim INC won the Crash Party remix contest a few years back and his production skills have gone strength to strength since. Meaning, that now his bass lines can officially make the elderly defecate when played through a reasonable sound system. Luckily, he’s medically trained, and this kind of occurrence doesn’t faze him.

Being down under and skilled with glitchy sound design, it was only right he teamed up with Cuttin’ It Fines man-mountain Kenny Beeper. Powers combined, these two have managed to cook up 3 delicious neck-snapping melodies that will blow speakers and entice mosh pits wherever they are played. However, this EP does come with a warning. Any DJ doing sets at retirement homes best be packing some wet wipes, because it’s about to get messy!

Real Sh*** is easy enough to distinguish. When coming from a living creature, one whiff and your face will screw up in what could only be interpreted as disgust.

The same will happen when you hear this slab of audio pork. Not due to its rancid stench, but the delicious bass, guitar and horn riffs that cushion BIG and 50 as if they were feathers in the wind.

Not many people want to take on remixing the hip-hop anthem "Flamboyant" by Big L? If something ain't broke, don't fix it right?

Well, this remix holds a special place in the heart of its creator. Inspired by his good friend Sam Banham who sadly passed away, the sample used for the instrumental (originally used by Rawcotiks) featured on a skate video featuring Sam. 

Roast recalls. "That track means so much, too so many people. Purely because of Sam's amazing skating and how dope the skate scene in Brighton was as the time of filming." 

One night, after watching Sam's part, Roast decided to have a play with the sample. 

After remaking the track and staying true to the Rawcotiks version, it only seemed right to fuse an acapella from Big L Flamboyant over it. A track from an album that was consistently on repeat around the same time the video part was made.

The result, a homage to Roast's old skateboarding compadre whom will never be forgotten and a head nod to the Hip Hop era that accompanied Roast during his time living in Brighton in the late 90's and early 2000's.

No one is more familiar with unwinding one’s self as our Irish, Edinburgh based golden child! He has been crowned Scotland's top party man for as long as he’s been a resident.

When he’s not dipping his toe in debauchery he runs retreats for uptight people who have lost their way in life. Basically, lacking the funk. It’s here they are forced to drink @gramsoul's special moonshine. We can only tell you four of the ingredients: Buckfast, Funk, Cider Vinegar and Soul!

The whole event is similar to a fight club for folk who have experienced too much stress in life. Wearing suits, watching reality tv and listening to chart music. Although @gramsoul is the only one landing the hits with this release!

Once they have gargled his special sauce, they are stripped of their possessions, clothing and given a Walkman with this EP on repeat. It is then they will experience the four stages of Funk while under the influence of his hypnotic tonic. The end goal, being immersed in Gramophone Soul’s head nodding clutch, resulting in their spirit being cleansed.

First up is the Physical test of “The Get Up”. Still dazed from the drink they are challenged to dance to the Get Up for 8 hours straight. The grog makes time go quicker, but the slamming funk of the guitar loops, blended with the up-tempo vibes of this belter makes it impossible to stop shuffling. 8 hours seems like 8 minutes and with the subject screaming to continue grooving, the first physical stage has passed.

Next is the mental test. Still dripping with sweat, the vibes of “Can You Dig It” are cranked in the head phones. The sound is consistent with the previous heavy guitar licks and dope drums of “The Get Up”. This time they are only allowed to listen to the track once. Then stripped of the music. Letting this banger go is the first challenge. Many can’t live without it. Those who pass, move on to the next step…. Not to hum the infectious grooves or sing “Badda badda badda badda badda badda swing!”. This has proven near impossible for all who have tried.

If they are still hanging in there, they are half way to regaining their balance with the funk! Next up “Unwind Yourself” trickles down the ear canal. This is the Spiritual test. The classic horn sample, funky drums, vocals and grunts are similar to meeting an old friend and seeing them in a new light! The sub bass warms your soul, helps you reflect on past mistakes and look at life in a funkier way!

Now they are on the home stretch. They are beginning to come around from the sauce that was funnelled into their gullet. The soulful vibes of “Dope Shit” Bring them back to state of being comfortable, healthy and happy. More than that, they are now one with the funk. They are instantly seeing rays of sunshine beaming down, walking along with this banger in their ears, it’s as if they have a pocket full of cash, new kicks and a soulful pep in their step.

The subject has now been cleansed! @cuttinitfine and @gramsoul have jump started them to a new fresher state. Use this EP wisely, never attempt to re-crate @gramsoul’s hypnotic tonic and don’t forget to follow @cuttinitfine and @gramsoul on all social media to make sure you never lose your way with the funk!

Crash Party, the elusive duo. Easily mistaken for men in black. They can be seen sweeping into disco’s that lack energy clothed in suits and shades. Enrolling in-house party starter El Bomba to produce the Free Download “Rockin’ Fly Kicks” available here. The illustration was made by our good friend and brainchild behind “Real Fake” Trav Wardle. Then passed to the homie Rez at Mega Agency to handwrite and place the font pulling the whole tee together.

It’s time to take it back… Take it back and switch it up. This is no easy task. In the words of Big Daddy Kane ‘Aint No Half Steppin’. Fitting as Haynesy takes on the smooth operator’s VOX in this EP. He’s plucked some of the most influential artists of our culture and reworked their vessels to bring a classic sound while maintaining a current vibe. All this is seasoned by the South Coast turntablist DJ Jabbathakut. Layering his signature slices of funk via his Shure carts on this dope EP.

Big Mouth – First Haynesy takes on Whodini. Transforming the track to a tapestry of horns and guitar licks, he breathes fresh air into this classic. Patching it up for 2020 dance floors (Should they ever be occupied) while Jabba’s skills are ever-present gluing this banger together with precise cuts and scratches.

Let The Rhythm Hit ‘Em – If you’re going to remix the R you need to be to have beats. Luckily for Haynsey, he has an abundance and they’re all high grade. Somehow managing to keep that boom bap, while paying homage to the tempo and style you’d expect the G.O.D to rhyme on. Haynsey nails this remix while Jabz keeps his consistency on the cuts. This rework is bonkers!

Root Down – This couldn’t be reworked at a better time. Following the current nostalgia and media hype behind the Beastie Boys story, Haynesy steps in and switches the original with some serious funk for the boys to lay on. Consider a timeless classics pillow fluffed to the max!

Set It Off – An acapella that’s so dope it’s been present in many a scratch and hook over the years. However, you haven’t heard it flipped like this. A neck-snapping bass line is present throughout, complemented by a picked electric guitar while Jabz keeps the tempo by shredding a medley of Kane VOX.

I’ll House You – Never being a fan of this direction for the JB’s I welcomed a remix from someone like Haynesy. Not disappointing he replaces that old school House vibe with the funk he flicks seamlessly from his crates. Keeping the tempo true to the original, it’s replaced with a new take that’s been tried and tested on many a dance floors that will elevate your set to the next level.

Never a man to leave an empty plate and always the one to finish incomplete beverages. Young @mr-fitzz is the proud owner of a lust for life and an aggressive appetite. The last man standing at many a house party. Usually in his pants rummaging around the fridge at 4am. His parents had to put locks on the sweetie jar due to his sleep foraging in the Fitz household. Inhaling leftovers from Tupperware with a semi, while swigging olive oil from the bottle is how his mother was greeted during the witching hour!

Not a lot has changed now he’s making waves as a DJ & Producer. A four-finger slap is what you’ll receive if you’re not quick on the changeover and the amount of beats this young man churns out… Tut tut leave some for someone else.

Moving on to the first track on young Fitz debut EP. Fitz mellows the vibes out and call’s upon JPDL to spit some verses about consuming kebabs. With Nick Robinson on sax, drum rolls that may or may not be on Fitz’s pot belly and delicious bass rumbles, this track will be a firm favourite for all culinary connoisseurs. 

Switch up! Ghostroller is up next and we’re genre hopping from Hip Hop to Drum & Bass. Fitz takes on the challenge of using that timeless sample RJD2 smashed all those years ago, adds some new vibes and turns into a drum and bass banger that slides in and out of Hip Hop. A challenge he accepts and completes victorious. 

Sliding back into Hip Hop territory and back on the subject matter of tuck! He’s called upon another greedy boy, Hypeman Sage. Sit back and listen in shock as Sage goes on a rampage eating everything in sight. His slightly offensive vocals are accompanied with a Classic Boom Bap break. Teamed with some serous bass action, Big Fridge is the ideal track to get this scrumptious release off the starting blocks. 

Finishing the EP with a banger we have Rude Brake. Hitting up that classic Breakbeat sound Fitz screws up some VOX while combining his signature Sub with that drum break that makes everyone dance. Resulting in the perfect Mignardise to this 4 course EP!
