"The Feeling That Brought Me Here" is Ackermann's second album. Effortlessly drifting between techno and house, the album eschews his usual EP minimalism in favor of a bold, hookline focused album. Gritty chord stabs, chunky pianos and jacked up grooves dominate the palate, whilst Ackermann's signature sample manipulation fuses deconstructed vocal chops that are used more like instruments or percussion elements instead of being the centrepiece of a song with razor-sharp drum edits and intricate sound design.

While his debut album "Stadium Techno" saw Ackermann's teenage incarnation smugly manning the controls of his 2020s studio (where he is currently known for immaculate mastering and A-List mixdowns) this sophomore collection offers a polished weaponry spanning 3 years of focussed collaboration integrating this adolescent dynamist with the guiding hand of an elder reaching their production zenith.
"The Feeling That Brought Me Here" channels the intrinsic urge of embodied music creation - fiercely somatic, unrestrained, physical, immediate and kinetic. Rogue sketches and intuitive vibe snapshots resist genre constraints to favor a dancefloor defined by polished 'f##k-you' tectonics and sleekly engineered attitude.

From the unapologetic feel-good opener "Good Times" via tougher chord slappers like "Click" or "Alter", a casual techno banger exclusively made with jungle sounds ("Now you know" with Vinicius Honorio), the deep techno bliss of "Noha", the cathartic "Let Go" or the disco infused outro "Gratitude" its all unmistakenly trademark Ackermann productions and all the various styles are firmly held together by his emotion over function approach to music production.

Flowers for Bodysnatchers is back with his third album on Cryo Chamber. 

"On the evening of August 12th, 1968 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts antique store owner Ernest Semenov brutally murdered his wife and two daughters in what police investigators described as bizarre ritualistic killings. Their dismembered bodies had been rearranged to form what appeared to be crudely oblique symbols formed into a circle and connected by blood that he had drawn from his own slit wrists. Ernest Semenov was found slumped upright in the centre of his macabre creation by neighbours who claimed he was mumbling in a language they could not understand. 
The subsequent investigation revealed an astounding amount of occult literature and objects at the Semenov residence. Belonging not just to Ernest Semenov but apparently to his wife Silvia Semenov also. Alarmingly police discovered various animal bones arranged in the same oblique manner attached to the underside of his daughters bed frames. 

Declared criminally insane by the state Ernest Semenov was imprisoned in Ravenfield Asylum for treatment and rehabilitation and, placed under the care of one Dr Richard Lankin. Subsequently on the night of July 1st, 1971 Ravenfield Asylum was consumed by fire. Police discovered the horrifically burnt bodies of 68 of the 70 patients and staff savagely murdered and dismembered in a manner not dissimilar to the 1968 Semenov murders. The bodies of Dr Richard Lankin and Ernest Semenov were not believed to be among the charred remains. "

Amund Ulvestad on Cello and Electronics, who previously helped out on Wordclock's second album Self Destruction Themes. 

Nuno Craveiro on Scandinavian instrument Nyckelharpa. 

George Shmanauri on Trumpet, from dark atonal jazz duo Phonothek. 

The resulting album Heralds breaks the fringe of the genre and re-assembles the pieces. It reveals itself as a dreamlike, spiritual and nihilistic album. Classical instruments float on a backdrop of tape loops and organic sound. Sacrificial and Touching. 

Recommended for fans of Dark Jazz and Neoclassical.
