My attempt at creating a backing track for the studio version of 'Slow Gin' as done by Joe Bonamassa.  This is without the extended outro solo.

Experimenting with Asian instruments in Logic.  This was a challenge to mix Japanese and Chinese instruments using different scales and different drum beat patterns to come up with this combination.

Lots if ideas discovered here that I can use in future compositions.

My 11 year old son and I just went down to the beach with our acoustic guitars...I decided to record us playing one of my wife's favourite pieces 'Buddha Garden Flowering'.  A one take performance sitting on the edge of a cliff in the beautiful sunshine.  One of those special 'father & son' moments...

I found the sheet music online, and played all parts on a MIDI keyboard.  All sound samples are from IK Multimedia's SampleTank 3, and U-He's Zebra2 synth.

A cover of another beautiful track by Simon Fox. This track has a dreamy quality about it which I am guessing reflects the peace and reflective tranquility of casting a line in the water at night. Played on my Taylor BTO Grand Symphony.

A cover of Simon Fox's "Lonely Venice", a beautiful song in DADGAD tuning, with some odd time changes among the way.  Played on my Lowden F12, and recorded using a Rode NT1-A mic and using Slate plugins for post processing and mastering.

Lonely Venice

A cover of a soulful, yet uplifting piece by Masaaki Kishibe.  After I recorded this take, I was not 100% happy with some of the imperfections and timing hesitations, but I wanted to dedicate this song to some special friends of mine who are facing (and have faced) some difficult challenges in life, so I decided to leave the imperfections in there to celebrate that life is indeed not perfect, and to appreciate it nonetheless.

Recorded using my Lowden F12 acoustic, with a Royer ribbon mic replica, and processed in LogicX using Slate tools.

My belated Valentine's gift to my wife.  This is Jimmy Wahlsteen's beautiful composition, which I have hardly done justice to.  I will keep practicing until I get the timing right, but wanted something to play to my beautiful wife, just because we are... hitched for life... :)
