Christian Parker | American Recording Artist | Guitarist | Songwriter 

In Canton, a small upstate NY town that hugs the Canadian border, resides a seasoned songwriter, American recording artist and guitarist by the name of Christian Parker. 
In equal measurements of melodic color and rhythmic flair, Christian’s dazzling collection of songs have been warming the hearts of listeners over the past 3 and a half decades. By pivoting his lyricism around emotion, tension, and hope, Parker has carved out a sound that constantly keeps the listener craving more, with songs that elegantly weave through a tapestry of pensive acoustic and chiming electric guitars with unforgettable hooks.
Acting as a musically minded watchman on the wall, Christian Parker centers the themes and stories of his productions around the events and stories of others, while also honing in his wordplay around the human condition. He speaks to the trials, tribulations and victories we encounter in everyday life, and to the complexities of relationships, whether in the form of loss or appreciation.
Although Parker's lyricism could be interpreted as melancholic, having written music that focuses on suicide, faith, and the regret of loss, Parker is a true believer that songs need to be uncovered, so that once they are revealed, the piece of music can serve as a blessing to those that hear them. As a listener, his ability to start with verses in moody minor keys before finally reaching gloriously uplifting choruses takes you on an unforgettable pop-landscape, sonic-fueled journey.
Having been playing the guitar since the age of 12, it was the day after the tragic death of John Lennon in 1980 that Parker took his very first lesson. As America wept, Christian Parker learned to play Rocky Raccoon that very night. Fast forward five years and by 17 Christian had released his first album, 'Reflections of Tomorrow'. He has since added five additional studio albums to his discography through the years. He went on to collaborate and co-write songs with Peter Pendras for Bug Music in Nashville, TN who was a staff writer.
In recent years he has worked with producer Louie Hurwitz; Woodstock Records who most notably performed in The Band with Levon Helm. Christian’s efforts as lead guitarist in the Waydown Wailers helped take their 2018 release of Backland Blues to number 42 on The Roots Music Report. The band has been a supporting act for Lady A, Charlie Daniels, Jarrod Niemann, and The New Riders of the Purple Sage – to name a few. 
Now an artist on SubCat Records, Christian is co-producing with engineer Ron Keck on his newest project Every Passing Mile and Best Kept Secret, a collection of previously unreleased material spanning the last two decades.

Tate’s new album ‘The Adventure’ will be released on October 8th. 2021. ‘The Adventure’ dives headfirst into the uncertainty of life, the dark and the light, the heavy and the easy, and the balance of walking between them. The Adventure represents a journey of learning to trust in one’s own strength in the face of circumstance. While most of Tate’s solo music leans towards a mellow singer-songwriter vibe, much of ‘The Adventure’ departs into Alternative, Acoustic Rock, and Adult Contemporary territory. Tate’s powerful and angelic range sometimes resembles that of Jeff Buckley, while some of his hushed voice can bring up echoes of Paul Simon. On ‘The Adventure’, Tate’s guitar style and songwriting can at times be reminiscent of John Mayer. Syncopated rhythms, unique percussive acoustic guitar lines, and both soaring and intimate vocals all support Tate’s poetic vision as he grapples with life’s big questions on ‘The Adventure’. 

Tate has toured across the Western United States and in Europe on numerous occasions and his work was recently featured in a global on-flight commercial on all American Airlines international flights. Tate’s music spans a variety of styles across his nine studio albums. From the intimate folk on The Solitude of Here, The Same Heart, The Final Hour, The Houses of Healing, and Anima, to the Indie/Pop/Rock: Many Miles, Home is in the Stars and Rising Up. 

When living in Salt Lake City, Tate met Swedish singer-songwriter Victoria Lagerström, a former Ms. Sweden, who came to the US from Stockholm to write and record with Tate. The couple soon fell in love and, three weeks after her arrival were married among the red rock cliffs of Zion. Lagerström never used her return ticket to Sweden. The couple now often performs as a duo, or with a full band under the name Many Miles. 

Tate regularly performs 150+ shows per year and is currently performing in residency at Under Canvas Zion and The Cliffrose Lodge, Hilton Curio Hotel in Zion Canyon. A multi-instrumentalist, Tate records and produces his albums at his own studio in Zion Canyon. Tate’s music is inspired by an avid love for the natural world and he can often be found exploring the vast horizons of the American West.

PIPER - THE BACKSTORY

The year was 1970. The Beatles were breaking up and In-A-Gada-Da-Vida was the next big thing. In the city of Louisville, Kentucky, two guys met at the garage of a mutual friend. Both were musicians. Soon, the two were playing music together. At that time, Louisville was a hot bed for live music and many bands found their way to local and regional success. With Charlie Smith on guitar and Mark Sinkhorn on bass, the two would begin a journey that culminates in the music you’re now hearing.

The two often found themselves spending hours together listening to their favorite music and dreaming of what might be. More importantly, they became best friends. Whether together in the same band or as members of other groups, over the next 10 years, Charlie and Mark were successful musicians.

In the early 80’s, Charlie and Mark reunited to form the band Piper with Steve Culberson on keyboards and Mark’s friend, Dennis Cotner, on drums. Piper became one of the hottest acts on the scene - performing at concerts, college events, and nightclubs around the area.

After a good run lasting a couple of years, Piper disbanded as Charlie and Mark moved on to successful careers in business and the professions. Charlie’s career in business took him around the globe - living and working in such places as Geneva, Switzerland and Singapore. Mark stayed closer to home, becoming an engineer and practicing in Louisville, and later in south Florida.

While following their career paths, both remained active as part-time musicians. Also, during that time, the two never lost track of each other and have remained best friends for nearly 50 years.

Now retired and comfortable, we are dedicated to giving back some of the good fortune with which we have been blessed. Our goal is to serve our communities through music.

We are offering new music from Piper for download on a pay-as-you-go basis. A portion of the proceeds from those sales also will go to our favorite charities to further the causes we hold dear.

Piper embraces a variety of musical styles and genres - Christian, Rock, Pop, Latin, Country and Instrumental. As something we believe is unusual in this world where perfection is paramount, some songs are first being presented as “Rough Cuts” - works that are in progress. Once completed, the rough tracks will be updated with finished tunes.

In our Live Feed section, you will find tunes recorded at a performance by the original Piper members in 1982. These tracks were recovered from a cassette copy and were lovingly restored in our studio to the level you hear today.

Emo synthwave collective Saint Mars is made up of talented musicians across UK, US and Switzerland, including lead singer and young viral sensation Tryzdin, founding members Marc Darcange and Angelo Bruschini (Massive Attack guitarist), bassist/keyboardist Julius Conrad, as well as special guests: rapper Jethro "Alonestar" Sheeran, Brent Paschke (N.E.R.D., Pharrell Williams) and Robert Brian (Siouxsie, Goldfrapp, Simple Minds). Saint Mars’ music has been featured on CLASH, Music Week, Wonderland Mag and Medium. 

Saint Mars are known for their strong anti-bullying stance, actively voicing their opinions about the harm that it can cause. The single ‘Ocean Blues’ can be considered the foundation stone for this public stand, having originally been inspired by a documentary on a French schoolboy bullying that resulted in suicide. The song gained great consideration with three remixes by Droid Bishop, Juche and Lost Years, earning them a number one on Submithub and features on YouTube tastemakers channels NewRetroWave and FOMH.

Saint Mars are returning on October 29, 2021 with their new single ‘The Last Dream Ever Made’, a synth wave anthem revealing one of their most intimate journeys into overcoming bullying and associated mental health issues, as illustrated by the fragility of the opening breaking glass and the heartfullness of the soaring chorus: « Through the fog that grows thicker every day - Take your first leap of faith for the last dream ever made ».
