Based on the Irish reel of the same title from O’Neill’s “Music of Ireland”, the track moves into ethereal chants to the goddess Eostre, underpinned by framedrum, tamborine, and a squishy downtempo groove. An additional atmospheric mix is available exclusively with the Bandcamp single.

Eostre, goddess of the dawn, greets the morning star (Venus) with symbols of springtime renewal and rebirth - hares, flowers, and eggs. According to Bede (672-735), Eostre was given offerings during the lunar month of Eastremonath (roughly April or Easter-time today).

Dubduk is Em9’s first foray into Reggae Dub—layering classic dub grooves with rich, atmospheric textures and live wind instruments. Centered around the expressive sound of the Armenian duduk, the track blends organic and electronic elements to create a deep, meditative vibe. 

Em9 is spearheaded by @joelloopez; a composer, sound designer and producer based in Barcelona. Dubduk marks another step in Em9’s evolution from solo producer to full band, continuing the project’s exploration of global sounds through modern production.

Aside from his project as Em9, Joel Loopez creates original music for media, including soundtracks for films and video games, melodies for advertising and arrangements for independent artists.
