Here is a first attempt using Goat tracker that let create SID C64 audio sounds. Same philosophy than tracker. Not an incredible technical release, just the base of how to control the software with something that sounds Commodore. Hope it will help Lazycow for one of his project.

Wouw, there soon 9 years i've written my first SID tunes for a C64 Videogame ! It was the OST of Powerglove devopped by Lazycow. 

We've worked next on many challenging projects and two weeks ago he proposed me to basicaly reworked on the introduction theme for a demo-project that will be presented to the #OnlySpritesCompo2022

But some kwel ideas finally inspired me a first draft. Synch to the Demo, it's realy fun to see those robo daning on the tune ! If you have a C64 or an emulator, let's try the demo !

Decrypting method

I've always been fascinated by synthesizer sounds, especially those of Jean-Michel Jarre, even if it took me many years to fully understand the influence he brought to other artists I discovered and appreciated earlier.

Today, without further ado, I'd like to share with you my new composition "Connected People", which is greatly inspired by this heritage.

A music that aims to bring people together to create a better world together.

Alongside my usual electro sounds produced by the #4klang and #64klang synthesizers, I've brought out the sounds of the Polysix and an excellent old VSTi Edirol Super Quartet, all driven again and again from #OpenModplugTracker.

This new track was composed for the teaser of an upcoming MOOC on global citizenship education, scheduled for the start of the 2023 school year.

Journey (WIP)

I've heard that song from Calvin Harris & Sam Smith few month ago in the Fiat 500x of my wife, going to the restaurant. That wake up something in my mind... Till that I'm listening around and around. So when Lazycow call me to write a bouncy track for a C64 Demo I know I'd like to convert those feeling I've had with that song to SID old school vibes !

Solar Panel from Kyocera City

I'd like to tell a story about my trip in Japan. Something that don't sound as an asian musics. Cities like Tokyo and Osaka was so special... I've seen it early in the morning, just before they wake up... and late in the night when the light still let them shine.

So i've imagine such kind of city that will powered by the sun... with solar panels everywhere... for sure, i settle Kyocera City. When the sun wake up, the few energy let slowly drive the main street, and step by step sunshine makes dance the city.

Once again "Solar Panel from Kyocera City" was written with the free VSTi 4KLang and OpenModplug Tracker... anyway i've cheated a little and added a pad from Octopus VSTi.

In end 2015, i was searching ideas for the next demoscene project of CTRL+ALT+TEST, the forcoming "H" project. I had the chance to touch the new alpha version of 64klang2 VSTi, that let create incredible sounds, but was not easy to take in hand. At that time, my little girl Alice should enter the hospital, my 4rd child, Rose will soon arrive and i will not be able to go further in that project... Some years later, i'll think that will not a so bad first attempt with that plugin.

Preparing new audio track for my forcoming MOOC teaser i lost myself trying to work on old 78inch charleston sounds, i finally come back to something more in my CJ mood with this electropop that sounds between Indochine, Van Halen and Aphex Twin with a scenemusic melody.
The new ULiège MOOC would be around FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) that's why i'm focus to use some realy old 30ties french language methode found on archive.org inside that track.

All that mixed ideas make meet Jacques Brel and New Wave sounds of the eighties !

Composition initiée l'année dernière pour une bande son de MOOC et remaniée, repensée, pour le projet "Simulation Médicale". Mode "Covid et masque" oblige, il y a ce petit quelque chose du moment où l'on retire son masque et où l'air frais se jette à nouveau sur notre visage, entre dans nos narines et nos poumons.

Respire, respire, derrière ce masque on transpire...
Respire, respire, tant que tu es à l'air libre.

Comme d'hab, les outils sont les mêmes, les VSTi 4Klang et 64Klang2 et quelques samples de mon synthé MiniNova.

De ces jours moroses, j'ai au moins ce petit moment qui me fait du bien, ce moment précieux juste après avoir terminé une nouvelle compo...

Le défi était de taille quand j'ai écouté les notes de guitare de Jean-Pol Lardot. Comment diable pourrais-je adapter cet univers viceral propre au Blues à l'approche carrée de la musique électronique... et comment l'adapter à mon approche minimaliste 1h chrono.

Puis, j'ai vu cette vallée désertique, ces robots démembrés laissés là, vestiges d'un autre temps... et ce gars avec un chapeau, sur son cheval traversant la vallée au soleil couchant... 

Voilà, les deux univers s'étaient alors connectés dans ma tête. J'entendais comment les guitares de Jean-Pol allaient se transformer en boucle, comment les synthés de mon 4KLang et son grand frère 64Klang2, pouvait en 1 heure top chrono se mettre en musique...

Well, another new concept to work quickly. Starting from some blues guitar's records played by Jean-Pol Lardot.

Not an easy musical project as blues guitar are not easy to fit inside a 4-4 square electronic project. But that moody ambient let me quickly imagine a valley of forgotten robots near the desert, some kind of last western robot battle... Something happens in my heads, something sounds in my mind... Here we go, we are both happy of the result !

Once again, i've used my sound palet out of 4KLang and 64klang VSTi plugged to Open Modplug Tracker.

Music composer till the nineties. I love working with SoundTracker software and have written thousand of tiny songs during those past years. My main influenced was the old C64 sounds and melodies, Demoscene pure electronic sounds and Eurodance from my teenage years. Mix all of that and this is how sounds Cyborg Jeff's tracks !
