July 1st 1863 (officially 1873) is when slavery was abolished in Surinam. A day where freedom of our ancestors was finally realized. Those who have suffered so much for us to live free now. 

Freedom and peace is something we kindly consider normal but even now in 2022 we have modern slavery of the uyguhrs in China. Thousands of migrant workers dead in Qatar for the world championship of football, Palestina who suffer from apartheid until this day and war in Ukraine which all of a sudden came really close. 

Freedom is something we are blessed with. We should not take this for granted and enjoy life as much as possible. Be kind and good to people around you, it might be a small thing for you to do but it can mean SO MUCH for others.

The Lady Machine is a veteran Brazilian artist with 20 years of experience under her belt purely as a vinyl DJ. Based on a more complex structure of rhythms with dark underground lines of synths and textures, The Lady Machine incorporates the spirit of techno in the twenty first century.

She stands by a deep musical research and precise technique. Her versatile sets blend genres of techno in its many forms and when combined with her fast, furious but tight mixing it creates a perfect atmosphere with the dance-floor. “I never limit myself to one style. “A quality sound with attitude and always dance floor orientated are what I try to convey in my sets” she says.

Basada en una estructura más compleja de ritmos con líneas oscuras y subterráneas de sintetizadores y texturas, The Lady Machine incorpora el espíritu del techno en el siglo XXI.

Ella se apoya en una profunda investigación musical y en una técnica precisa. Sus versátiles sets mezclan los géneros del techno en sus múltiples formas y, cuando se combinan con sus rápidas y furiosas pero ajustadas mezclas, crean una atmósfera perfecta en la pista de baile. Always on the search for new artists to support, Justine has built strong relationships that have brought her to take part in Parisian Resilience crew and becoming a resident DJ at Strasbourg well respected club - Kalt. As part of the LGBTQIA+ community with appearances in queer parties, Justine embraces the need of building diversity and a safer environment in music. 

After spending time, crafting her own vision, Justine’s first productions and remixes have finally seen the light on labels like KR Records, Postdynamic or Unknown Movements.

He who started in the late 80's as a successful DMC DJ in The Netherlands, mixing electro and hip-hop tracks, established thenafter an historic musical connection between Amsterdam and Detroit. Orlando Voorn's unique signature of early productions, analog tweaks, funky beats and cosmic chords, quickly attracted the attention of the like of Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, for which he produced game changing classic tracks like "Game One (as Infiniti)" and "Fix (as Flash)" in the early 90's only to continue to do so until today on numerous labels (R&S, Fragile, Nightvision…) and under various aliases (Playboy, Ghetto Brothers, Format…).

OVERVIEW:
NX1 are Samot and Surit, childhood friends and long-time production partners. Hailing from the same town in Majorca the pair have spent the last ten years developing a mutual passion and utopic vision for contemporary techno as individual artists, a collaboration now formally coming to fruition as Nexe Records. 

The project launched discreetly enough last year with the NX1 series. No track titles—only numbers, self-released and limited to just 200 pressings, the catalogue (totalling three EPs, with a fourth on the way) wears the “no-nonsense” insignia boldly pinned to its lapels, collectively posing as a commanding and stripped back showcase of music very literally speaking for itself. Indeed it is a concept that repeats throughout the remainder of the NX1 discography, and features once again here: the duo’s first four track EP, and debut release for M_Rec Ltd.

Seasoned NX1 followers will find the duo packing even more of a punch this time as the pair push proven scopey soundscapes and thundering basslines into deeper, darker extremities. If the latest NX1 self-releases have adopted more dub-techno tones, then ‘MR’ returns to earlier blueprints culminating in four moreish variants of sleek and driving techno. From the groovy hypnotism of “MR1” and “MR3” to the swirling strung-out highs of “MR2”, down to the sludgy depths of closer “MR4”, the NX1 message resonates loud and clear: Music is nexus. Plug into the system.
