SHXCXCHCXSH are undoubtable masters of vivid techno constructions, which are as heavy as they are refined. On the first hour of this premiere episode recorded at the Sound Of Stockholm festival, SHXCXCHCXSH sculpt a small self-sufficient world with dystopian and cinematic flow, which acts as a de-personalised journey across some unfamiliar, mysterious, yet inviting landscapes with dusty clouds settling upon the nocturnal terrains. No wonder that such sound needs its own platform to be showcased and elaborated upon. That is why Rösten is now born, a newly founded label established by the duo to realize their ever-evolving creative visions. 

While listening to the second hour by SSTROM recorded live at Tbsilisi’s superior KHIDI Club, you feel like touching some alien surfaces with utmost sensitiveness with surreal landscapes stretching out in your imagination. This is carefully crafted introvert music, yet having some elegant dancefloor appeal. Behind the SSTROM moniker hides a long-time activist of Sweden’s experimental techno scene. Having fallen in love with simple melodies and catchy arpeggios when being a member of bitpop/synth band Slagsmålsklubben, he transferred these sensibilities further into his other projects. SSTROM’s excellent 2016 debut for Semantica Records was an excellent exercise in lush aquatic techno with breezy and lush atmospheres.

Finally we are graced with brand new material from Sweden's Gustaf Hildebrand, a few years after the epic Primordial Resonance album and his joint project with Amanda Votta, Lacus Somniorum. The Heliopause, the point outside our solar system where the solar wind ceases to be, transitioning into what is known as the Interstellar Medium and where our sun becomes just another pinprick of light amongst a billion others. If you were to find yourself stranded in such a place with nothing but a radio receiver, Gustaf Hildebrand imagines that this is what you would hear, low rumbling soundscapes interspersed with bursts of static, com-chatter and signal interceptions from a distant world. Vestiges of humanity bubble up from the ether, speaking encoded messages in the form of numerical combinations and long-forgotten cyphers, their true meanings lost or hidden away inside the memory banks of decommissioned satellites. This new chapter in Hildebrand’s discography reaffirm’s his position as a true visionary and unique craftsman of exploratory sonorities. Edition of 800 copies in 6 panel digipack. 9 Tracks. Saahiwa is the pseudonym of Sophie Zahmurely. Focused on creating an engulfing atmosphere and creepy mood, the Georgian artist present a track filled with obscure sound layers, distant voices and field recordings, dark drones and ritualistic beats, with generous space to some melancholic melodies which fit perfectly the haunted and gloomy mood of the track.
