"The End of Greatness" combines the talents of 3 of Norway's most respected Ambient acts, namely Northaunt, Avsky and Taphephobia. After a few years of collaborative work, we are presented with a very special joint project, where each members brought their own approach to atmospheric sound creation into a cohesive, mesmerizing whole. Each drawing inspiration from personal experiences to present their common view of the world, these observations were instinctively translated in the form of 6 dreamy and utterly bleak ambient compositions where guitar drones merge flawlessly with abstract soundscapes, all with a distinctive northern touch. The music comes accompanied by a carefully chosen collection of monochrome photographs giving a glimpse into a seemingly depopulated world, where some are still searching yet where all seems lost.

SHXCXCHCXSH are undoubtable masters of vivid techno constructions, which are as heavy as they are refined. On the first hour of this premiere episode recorded at the Sound Of Stockholm festival, SHXCXCHCXSH sculpt a small self-sufficient world with dystopian and cinematic flow, which acts as a de-personalised journey across some unfamiliar, mysterious, yet inviting landscapes with dusty clouds settling upon the nocturnal terrains. No wonder that such sound needs its own platform to be showcased and elaborated upon. That is why Rösten is now born, a newly founded label established by the duo to realize their ever-evolving creative visions. 

While listening to the second hour by SSTROM recorded live at Tbsilisi’s superior KHIDI Club, you feel like touching some alien surfaces with utmost sensitiveness with surreal landscapes stretching out in your imagination. This is carefully crafted introvert music, yet having some elegant dancefloor appeal. Behind the SSTROM moniker hides a long-time activist of Sweden’s experimental techno scene. Having fallen in love with simple melodies and catchy arpeggios when being a member of bitpop/synth band Slagsmålsklubben, he transferred these sensibilities further into his other projects. SSTROM’s excellent 2016 debut for Semantica Records was an excellent exercise in lush aquatic techno with breezy and lush atmospheres.

Saahiwa is the pseudonym of Sophie Zahmurely. Focused on creating an engulfing atmosphere and creepy mood, the Georgian artist present a track filled with obscure sound layers, distant voices and field recordings, dark drones and ritualistic beats, with generous space to some melancholic melodies which fit perfectly the haunted and gloomy mood of the track.
