SHXCXCHCXSH are undoubtable masters of vivid techno constructions, which are as heavy as they are refined. On the first hour of this premiere episode recorded at the Sound Of Stockholm festival, SHXCXCHCXSH sculpt a small self-sufficient world with dystopian and cinematic flow, which acts as a de-personalised journey across some unfamiliar, mysterious, yet inviting landscapes with dusty clouds settling upon the nocturnal terrains. No wonder that such sound needs its own platform to be showcased and elaborated upon. That is why Rösten is now born, a newly founded label established by the duo to realize their ever-evolving creative visions. 

While listening to the second hour by SSTROM recorded live at Tbsilisi’s superior KHIDI Club, you feel like touching some alien surfaces with utmost sensitiveness with surreal landscapes stretching out in your imagination. This is carefully crafted introvert music, yet having some elegant dancefloor appeal. Behind the SSTROM moniker hides a long-time activist of Sweden’s experimental techno scene. Having fallen in love with simple melodies and catchy arpeggios when being a member of bitpop/synth band Slagsmålsklubben, he transferred these sensibilities further into his other projects. SSTROM’s excellent 2016 debut for Semantica Records was an excellent exercise in lush aquatic techno with breezy and lush atmospheres.

Saahiwa is the pseudonym of Sophie Zahmurely. Focused on creating an engulfing atmosphere and creepy mood, the Georgian artist present a track filled with obscure sound layers, distant voices and field recordings, dark drones and ritualistic beats, with generous space to some melancholic melodies which fit perfectly the haunted and gloomy mood of the track. Nordvargr returns to Cyclic Law with yet another crushing offering that follows in the footsteps of it’s highly acclaimed predecessor "Metempsychosis” and develops the sound even further. Daath was recorded back to back with MZ. 412´s "Svartmyrkr" and the creative maelstrom that infused that masterpiece also can be heard in Nordvargr´s solo efforts. The ambient parts have been put in the backseat in order to make way for heavy percussion, stringed and bowed instrumentation and thundering vocals delivered with serious intent. The title refers to the false sephira which also can be interpreted as the great abyss that needs to be crossed in order to attain higher knowledge; a fitting analogy for the ordeals that took place during the composition of this album as well as a perfect symbol of the new sound and direction of Nordvargr's creative universe.
