Cygnus Live isn't your average DJ. He's a seasoned psychonaut, a veteran of the Cape Town trance scene with a journey stretching back to the late 90s. It all began with a single festival, an explosion of sound, colour, and community that ignited a lifelong passion.

Fueled by a musical background – from blistering saxophone in punk bands to smooth improvisations in jazz – Cygnus, then known as DJ Robotrix, carved a path through the city's clubs. But the concrete jungle couldn't contain his yearning for wide-open spaces. He ventured into the underground scene, playing at secret gatherings, until a pivotal moment arrived: winning a DJ competition that landed him a coveted slot at Groovy Troopers' legendary Mandala Project.

This victory sparked a metamorphosis. The urge to create his own sonic tapestry became irresistible. DJ Robotrix faded, and Cygnus Live, a culmination of 30 years immersed in the psychedelic experience, emerged.

Cygnus Live's music isn't bound by genre. It's a narrative, a tapestry woven from three decades of psychedelic journeys. He prioritizes the emotional exploration of the mind, crafting soundscapes that paint vivid landscapes within your soul.
