Idle Pulse marks the debut release for Sydney duo Askham & S. Tonkin, as well as being the fourth release for the young label Dialectic Recordings. Curated with an eclectic blend of remixes by the likes of Assembler Code, Kooscha, and the label’s very own head haunches, Lunakyn, this release takes a wild ride through rolling techno, electro, wacky breaks, and dub. Perfect for club, warehouse, and rave, Idle Pulse and its remixes pack a punch for any situation and for all breeds of selectors.

Askham & S.Tonkin are hosts of the Construct show on Sydney based station, Nomad Radio and curators of the global guest mix series dubbed ‘Constructions’ - a series that brings together a wide spectrum of underground electronic artists within the dance music ecosphere, both local and international.
The duo have supported the likes of Djrum and Pariah, while their Construct brand has hosted parties for artists such as Special Request, Peverelist, Addison Groove and more. They also share a fascination for the sounds of highly abstract and hypnotic techno, crunchy, driving electro, and the percussion-locked grooves of UK bass music.

Assembler Code programs a unique sound which combines hard hitting machine noise with funky percussion on Sci-fi soundscapes - blasting out a modern take on the classic electro and techno sound - while behind the decks, he delivers a wide range sounds ranging from classic Electro, drum breaks to hard hitting techno; Maximum transfer speed, straight to the minds on the dance floor.

Within just one year, the Leipzig-based label Self Learning System has established itself as a serious and cheeky contender in the electro scene, and the third release aims to live up to this claim once again. DJ Unisex surprises with Chromatic Stimulations, as his four otherworldly tracks unfold a no-frills attitude on par with a trippy sound design between a revealing in and outro. This EP is not afraid to present raw and unsettling machine noises and rather revels in the bubble bath of reverberating and resonating synths from late night hardware sessions. 

- Desire [ 136 bpm ] Don't be misled by the early onset synth pads, DESIRE is a disturbingly catchy bass monster of an electro track. 

- Observer T - 8EM [ 132 bpm ] A perfect example of how a minimal club electro track doesn't have to be complex to make your body bang to it. 

- Electro Techno Freaks! [ 136 bpm ] DJ Unisex screws a smacking bass into your auditory nervous system again and uses only selected inorganic ingredients. 

- Instrumental C.03 [ 141 bpm ] You came for the machine funk but you'll stay for the blinding trip. Secret tip.

SELF003 comes again with stunning artwork painted by Dominik Widmann himself. Included as A2 inlay print in every record.
