She is also a party organizer, DJ, and model, and her own party "NOCOMPLY" is a rave held in the warehouse district of Shin-Kiba.

In March of this year, she released her "Soleil EP" from Hole and Holland, and has also started composing music, with Melbourne DJ/producer Tornado Wallace using Soleil in his DJ set at HOR Berlin, and has been attracting attention.

The reason I love to do live set is that it’s a completely different approach from DJing - while DJ focuses on adapting to the crowd and the room, liveset is a raw expression from the heart, music that was created in the comfort of home and studio - kind of feels like: “this is all I’ve got, love it or leave it.”  My livesets normally focus on 3 different kinds of energy:  Sun energy, Moon energy and Body (Earth) energy.  This 1-hour liveset was originally designed for Sound Metaphors’ 9-year Anniversary at Panorama Bar, drawing from Sun energy - it is driven by joy, romance, warmth and a shared feeling of “things are gonna be okay… we have each other, let’s go on a fun journey together”.  I used Juno60, Korg Minilogue for sequences, Linn Drum & 909 samples, RD-05 for live melodies and pads, plus Ableton Push, midi keyboard, electric violin and vocal.  There are a few alternate (live set only) versions of released materials, and a few unreleased collab materials, as well as of course the “Moods Of Love” Canto series released on Bless You.  The first Cantonese vocal track in the liveset will be the third vinyl release coming end of this month (BLESSYOU029).  It is a cover version of Tina Lau’s “Half A Dream/半個夢” from 1987, but completely redone from scratch with a different take and original vocal.  There will be a few different versions including a club version and Mogwaa’s Latin-style remix.  I hope you enjoy it!

Courtney Bailey is a DJ, producer, and party organiser from Japan, now based in Berlin. She founded the underground rave NOCOMPLY in Shinkiba and gained international attention with her 2023 debut EP Soleil on Hole and Holland.

In 2025, she released I Wanna Feel You on Australian label Animals Dancing — a hazy, acid-infused EP featuring her bilingual vocals and experimental sound.

As a DJ, she has played at renowned venues including Panorama Bar in Berlin, Womb in Tokyo, Klymax in Bali, and Fuji Rock Festival, with regular appearances across Europe and Asia.

It was a natural thing that CYK came to be — when some of Tokyo’s house freaks came together to throw their own party.Not only a platform for showcasing international guests, CYK is also a collective of DJs, organizers, promoters.

CYK is the Tokyo-based house music collective consisting of Nari, Kotsu, Naoki Takebayashi, and DNG. They have invited cutting-edge artists from Japan and abroad such as Mall Grab, HAAi, Baba Stiltz, KENJI TAKIMI, Avalon Emerson, Jun Kamoda, Skin On Skin, and more. Other parties have been held in a variety of formats, including the "CYK All Night Long" series, in which four CYK members create a night with only B2B, and the "CYK & Friends" series, which focuses on hooking up with local DJs close to home and abroad.

The members are constantly offered B2B sets, and have played at Venues in Tokyo such as CONTACT and VENT, as well as at big festivals such as "Rainbow Disco Club", "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL" and "Wonderfruit Festival" .

CYK doesn’t propose any lofty aims as a crew — we simply love to keep representing proper grooviness and to draw partygoers into exciting and immersive dance spaces.
