Having been a permanent fixture at Sunwaves for some time now, Romanian maestro Cezar is regularly called upon to put the finishing touches to the bi yearly marathon. For the huge 30th anniversary edition he was slap bang in the middle of the long weekend nestled in-between Rhadoo and Petre Insperescu. It has been five years since we launched the podcast series and to celebrate, we will be releasing x5 special edition mixes from selected artists over the course of the next couple months starting with none other than Barac. After a long period of time at the top of his game, known for his intricate and high quality productions,on the likes of Pressure Traxx, Meander, and Midi Records. His intelligent and smooth sound is loved by many all over, whether moving the dancefloor in one of the best clubs in the world either mixing or one of his fantastic live sets, or it could be a lengthy journey on the beach in his native country Romania. There is something so special when this man enters the room with an ability to grasp the listener, allowing them to indulge in the variations of sound he has prepared. It is with our greatest pleasure, that we can offer you this tasty cut from Barac's set live from Robert Johnson, in Frankfurt, back in January 2016 for a Presure Traxx showcase. Famous for its intimate vibe, and incredible sound system, to nobody's suprise, Barac steps up to the occassion with low swung minimal grooves lifting the atmosphere, accompanied by his signature curious movements of abstract sounds adding to the story the Romanian is telling. Pressure Traxx are known for their ability to extend much further than what meets the eye, there is no 'same sound', and this is why the wizard we like call Barac fits the bill like no other. A steady motion in to the trip, whether listening in your house, walking to work, or driving in your car, you will be absorbed in to the sounds you are hearing gaining an insight to the tight knit intimacy of Robert Johnson, and what Barac had to offer on the night. Adrian Niculae a.k.a. Priku established himself as a hard working and passionate music creator. He is a member of Sunrise booking since 2007, making his way up to the big gigs through many noticeable Sunwaves performances. 

He released on labels such as [a:rpia:r], All Inn, Fabric, Concrete Music and Only 300 Family, his name is also on Cocoon Green & Blue 2011 and Cocoon Heroes compilations. 

Throughout he can be seen playing in many important clubs and parties around the world, including Robert Johnson, Amnesia, Kazantip Festival, Tenax, Concrete, all across Europe and as far as the Americas. 

In 2012, Bobohalma Ep was released on [a:rpia:r] label. This was a resounding success, highly appreciated by his colleagues in the industry as well as the general public. 

2013 is a turning point for Priku. He creates his own label: Motif and releases a new solo – Acoustic Ep under his real name, Adrian Niculae, the name that’s also present on Fabric 72. 

Priku's achievements came when still relatively young proving to be extremely talented, when we look at him we can see this sweet and delicate face, however, when we listen to his music, especially his live performances - by definition presenting the core of his identity musically – we call him the “king of basslines”, there is a somewhat adorable contradiction here, sweet face vs dark and very strong music, in the best way possible. That element of surprise and this contradiction makes him an even more fascinating artist. 

In 2016 started a new label and series of parties called Atipic, party by which we hold a residency at Guesthouse. This set is an extract of his set at Atipic at the club in March 2019.

For our debut we've prepared a special edition fitting not one, but two artists altogether.
This is a live recording from a certain event that took place at The Black Sea coast not long ago (yes, that special festival we all love), featuring a b2b set from Barac, half of NoiDoi duo project and his partner in crime in recent times, Herodot.
It's one of the few recordings (if not the first) on the web under the Barac moniker, probably the best kept gem of the Romanian scene at this point. And these two guys go along so well, as if they were a match made in heaven.
