Cymatic Soul draws from a passion that goes back to the roots of Drum and Bass, its rhythm, instrumentation and melody. With influences spanning Jazz, Soul, Reggae, breakbeat and the roots of Drum & Bass and Jungle circa 1990 inspired by the delivery of this sound using live instrumentation such as live acoustic drums, double bass, wind and string instruments backed up by varied electronic synthesis and vocals.

This all original material written and produced by Alex Woodland aka Alex Maxwell as his better known musical alias during a prolific career DJ'ing and producing in London and around the world within the House/Electronica circuit. This is his deepest musical venture finding himself drawn back to influences pre dating his DJ career in the early 2000's. Now using music a means of expression, he found himself composing, resulting in a sound with the foundations of Drum & Bass, evolving through a fusion of multiple genres with the common denominator that it could be played in a live setup with real instrumentation.

Cymatic Soul’s most notible influences are the likes of 4hero, Roni Size, Goldie, London Elektricity and personally Alex's prior experimental productions and experiance as a musician within various live acts most notably Jazz and live electronica.
