Capital Mutation

In Volume 1 of Capital Karl Marx (1867) demonstrates that the true spirit and intent of capital compels the capitalist to extract as much extra value out of the one commodity that has the ability to produce a value greater than itself (i.e. human labor-power)even if it means the premature exhaustion and death of the laborer. In fact, Marx showed how capital will always lead to the death of the laborer unless the true spirit and intent of capital is restricted by state regulations or slowed or stopped by working class resistance. Consequently, Marx argued that when unregulated the always present "cynical recklessness" and "terrorist energy" of capital always emerges. In the punk rock tradition this musical intervention is named after that which it seeks to disrupt and subvert, that is, the "cynical recklessness" of capital.
