Hello! It is here, my orchestral arrangement of My Time, I really hope you enjoy it! Lemme give y’all some of my thoughts on this absolute beast of a song:

Wow. First of all, this was an INCREDIBLY difficult song to transcribe– the song rapidly changes keys and uses some pretty complex jazz harmony, which I feel is what really drives the chaotic and unhinged nature of this song. Harmonic analysis aside, there were several arrangement choices I made that may be considered a little unorthodox. One of them included passing around the melody to multiple instruments we normally don’t hear solo, like the trombone and double bass. I also wanted to really lean into the chaos of this song, so I did whatever I could to support that, from the spoken vocals (or I guess they're more shouted out) to a near atonal countermelody during the second "breakdown" section. Otherwise, I was surprised by how much orchestration already went into my time, so kudos to bo en for that, I’d love to hear his thought process on writing this song someday. And for the folks with an especially keen ear, you might hear some musical callbacks throughout this arrangement :))) because I’m a sucker for motifs and can’t get enough of it. 

Special thanks to my friend and good buddy Koji for recording additional vocals for the choral section! (fun fact: I wrote in the vocals in the sheet music as “bo en’s ghost”) And big thanks to carrot113, who I commissioned to draw the art in the video! I certainly had a very specific vision for this video, so I’m grateful they achieved it perfectly! They also arrange and cover OMORI music so please check them out!!
