Boyanza is thrilled to present the latest musical offering from Tommaso Conforti, who once again showcases his dexterous and multifaceted talents across four tracks of house-laden brilliance.

Originally hailing from Florence, Italy, Conforti has made Chicago his home for almost a decade. The birthplace of house music has embraced him as much as he has embraced it, establishing himself as a key figure in the city’s underground scene. His passion for music was ignited during his formative years, listening to his parents’ collection of 45s, and has deepened through his respect and love for Chicago’s musical heritage. As a DJ, his approach—seamlessly blending old-school rarities with cutting-edge contemporary productions—has earned him admiration from some of Chicago’s pioneering artists. Acting as a bridge between eras, Conforti’s productions mirror this ethos, merging classic motifs with forward-thinking elements that make his sound both familiar and refreshingly innovative. Each track on this release embodies a harmonious balance between diversity and cohesion, weaving rich narratives alongside compelling rhythms and melodies.

Conforti has also expanded his musical universe by co-founding Elevator Music, a platform dedicated to reshaping the boundaries of dance music while fostering meaningful, long-term connections within its community.

Affettati Misti
On the B-side, the first of two versions of Affettati Misti emerges. Written & Produced in the mountains of Italy with Logan Aspin, the track draws inspiration from excerpts of an old Italian film, humorously juxtaposing cold cuts with political parties. This playful yet thought-provoking narrative is set against deep-hued pads that evoke the misty mountain atmosphere. As the driving bassline and lively keys enter, the track shifts into an uplifting, dynamic experience, culminating in a euphoric final third.

Top Pocket records returns with another robust and rounded VA for their second release. Eden Burns (Sandboards) provides two tracks on the A-side, plus a collaboration between Akira + Krywald & Farrer with Midnight Groove on the flip. Here we feature 'Moeraki Groove', an infectiously 90's Italo house anthem brimming with euphoric nostalgia. Floaty pads scurry alongside a solid house groove, heavily reinforced by an old skool dubby bassline. A natural progression from A1 this side of the press is for anyone who enjoys a dose of vintage 90s house.

Cyphon Recordings is a new label with one foot in the past and another in the present. The UK-based platform will pay homage to the formative electronic sounds of the mid 90s, whilst also looking firmly to the future in its ethos, music policy and roster.

Taking cues from electro, abstract electronica, IDM and Detroit-inspired futurism, Cyphon will present exciting new music filtered through the lens of that golden era of DIY home recording and bedroom production, which helped pave the way for electronic music today.

Though these influences will form the backbone of the label’s output, it will take a free-form approach to curation, remaining open to embracing far-reaching strains of electronic music that reflect the same attitude as their predecessors. 

Working with both established and emerging names, Cyphon aims to carve out a space for artists to create without boundaries or borders, whilst helping to support the artistic development of the next generation of producers coming up through the ranks. 

The visual aspect will also play a key role in the label’s mission. The physical and digital releases will be immortalised through eye-catching retro electro aesthetics that will bring life to the music behind the sleeves.

Cyphon’s journey is only just starting, buckle up and join the ride.
