I prefer this original production over the way it’s produced on iTunes. This raw production really makes it easy to lose yourself in, but the way it’s produced on iTunes makes it sound too much like it’s modified for the ears of a picky dj.

Funky

The song that launched a thousand gifs. I made this track in 2004, which is around when I started putting animations on the internet. At the time my computer was always running out of memory, much like my own brain, so this was a kind of nostalgic reminiscence of a life lived mostly playing video games.

No More Memory

From my moo video, I made this in 2007. It sat around for a few months before I had the idea for the video, so the two aren't conceptually related, though its hard to hear it now without thinking of giant robotic cows fighting with aliens.

Something else

I've always been fascinated by the Shepard scale which sounds like it is continuously rising, so in 2008 I decided to make it into a song. 

Bleeps

Inspired by mathematical chaos, I made this song in 2009. It took half a year to end up in a video. I can't actually read or write music or identify time-signatures, I just keep throwing notes at my computer until it sounds right.

Cycles

Dating from 2010, this song sat on my computer for 2 years waiting for the right video to come along. Its actually about my dead cat ascending to heaven. Being an atheist he isn't allowed in, so he just keeps on rising into infinity.

Because

I called this track "Oddity", though it will forever be associated with my Cows & Cows & Cows video. Someone pointed out to me that the time signatures are prime numbers, which I'll have to take their word for.

Oddity

This song happened along around the same time as the video in 2010, though as usual the visuals were inspired by the music rather than the other way around.

Walks of Life

Kind of a sound experiment that sat on my computer like a sinister stain for several months, it eventually got hammered into the rough shape of a song that I could use for a similarly weird video in 2010.

Something

One of my favourite tunes, it sounds like a mental illness. While the video version ends somewhat suddenly, this version has a fade out at the end, which is how it was originally.

Malfunction

Possibly in Michigan" is a musical about cannibalism in Middle America. Two women are stalked through a shopping mall by a masked man, who follows them home.  There the victims become the aggressors.

"Animal Cannibal" was written for "Possibly in Michigan" by Karen Skladany.
