Mijo is spearheading the new wave of DJ/Producers heading out from Mexico, Local Suicide are the club regulars with Berlin nights like TOFU and Voyage Voyage.  As well as this, Dina and Max have released tracks with Rodion and released on My Favourite Robot Records with Abu Dhabi, one of the finest tracks of the year. 
Mijo and Local Suicide have come together and in doing so they concocted beats, bleeps and general shenanigans to create a quirky breaky track with a beatbox style cut up vocal which in spite of its playful nature has claws which could sever a spinal column if required, so beware when you get to the speakers, this is sharper than a hypodermic needle fresh from a bag,  it's going to tattoo your eardrums and make your soul dance until it's feet bleed or fall off. In a good way, obviously.

Exclusive: Alf Champion - Parte Operantis (Mike Simonetti Remix)

Alf Champion's first name does not derive from Alien Life Form but is short for Alfonso. However, Alfonso wants to be called Alf and Alf was one of the founding members of Ray Coyote, a rock band from Guadalajara in Mexico, before he chose to go solo as he focused more on electronic music. Alf's first appearance as a solo artist was on Optimo Music and now sees him continue walking the credible path with a five tracker called Primus on Mike Simonetti's label 2MR. The EP comes with altogether two original tracks and is completed with three remixes as Simonetti himself took on remix duties for Parte Operantis. Mike's remix approach takes the listener to an almost forgotten time, that of music being played in a little dark room with sweat dripping from the ceiling onto the dance floor – this experience was once called clubbing. A lush bass line wobbles through the club and is enriched with tonal changing arps and various spooky sound textures that fade in and out like a ghost hovering over the floor. Lastly Simonetti adds a slight and repetitious Acid-note to the remix that rounds off the misty enigmatic dance floor trip that we hope to re-experience one day.

Alf Champion's EP Primus will be released on 2MR on June 12th, 2020.

Exclusive: Petbrick - Guacamole Handshake (Fango Remix)

It's time to continue the noise. After the release of Petbrick's debut album I last year, the duo consisting of Wayne Adams and Iggor Cavalera, selected various and musically diverse artists to take on remix duties for the band's remix album project, namely I Remixed. Italian mastermind Fango, known for his percussive influenced (techno) approaches on music, reworked Guacamole Handshake and delivers a musical piece that could not have a clearer handwriting of an artist than this one. As soon as the bass sets in Guacamole Handshake becomes a Fango-thon, or in other words a groovey rhythmical track with slightly bouncing beats in different variations and nuances. Fango's take sounds simple, yet contains so many facets, so many drums and sounds that it pulls the listener into an undertow of percussions before the noise finds its way into the track to break open this rhythmic harmony for a few seconds. 

Petbrick's I Remixed will be released on Rocket Recordings on July 31st, 2020.

Based in Mexico, the solid and conspicuous label Richmerch does not get tired of releasing awesome and essential music. Its forthcoming EP, featuring Argentinian producer Nicolas Lattansio aka SHIT, delivers four stunning originals and showcases the versatility and talent of the hermano, who was previously seen on Controlla, Bottom Forty and… Richmerch itself along with Persona, Guerra, Tyu and Gameboyz (SXDNS061).

The message “Die Sleeping EP” intends to transmit is aimed at those who miss going to raves, dancing with strangers somewhere at 6 am and having proper fun for days. The raves are becoming more underground again, being held in secret locations only for friends, some of them are a little bit more massive at outdoor locations. Why? People are getting crazy. People want to dance. They want to party. Despite the danger it represents nowadays. SHIT cooked music for this scenario. Four Electro/Techno tracks to unleash all the energy retained over the past months. Four Electro/Techno tracks that must be played at high volume. Especially “AAAA”, the one we chose to premiere. The energetic bassline, devoted to wreaking havoc and triggering ecstasy, is addictive! What leads us to complain publicly about the length of the tune: 5.33 is too short, Mr Lattansio. “AAAA” should be at least 12 minutes.

Back with a bang! Correspondant return after their annual summer break with an absolute weapon of an EP from Savage resident Alan Dixon... Complete with a remix from Prins Thomas and jazz legend Bugge Wesseltoft! A vibrant technicolour disco rampage, both 'Edge Of Forever' and 'Mr Sparks' writhe and scream with the essence of the times. Following massive releases on Running Back, AEON, Future Disco and Permanent Vacation, once again Alan Dixon captures the pent up energy and frustration of the weirdest year we've ever had in our lifetimes and how it's finally being released as the dancefloors slowly open up again. Loaded with an incredible loose-limbed thigh-slapping Diskomix from Prins Thomas and Bugge Wesseltoft and a delicious ambient twist from Alan himself, this is the sound of a revived and reenergised scene that's ready to fight the challenge of getting back to how things were, but even better. We will never take our lifestyles for granted again. We will cherish these moments so much more. We are in love with this record.
