As an undisputed heavyweight and one of the leading figures within the electronic music scene, Icicle's recognized as a highly respected producer - among other ventures through steaming releases via Hospital Records, Critical Music and Shogun Audio. Propelling his technically advanced production style into the 140 BPM spectrum, it's a sight to behold as DJ Youngsta reveals the next ace up his sleeve. The UK-based veteran conveys his awe-inspiring take on Dubstep with four tracks on a twelve-inch platter - vehemently battle-tested as a dubplate and ready to off at a dance floor near you.

We are immersed in dense, granular fog. 'Raising The Dead' begins the ritual with hypnotism and anxious unrest. Eerie lead melodies lure listeners onwards as relentless percussion takes hold. Rigorously increasing the intensity with mesmeric style to the ruthless beat of the drums - fragmented vocals flicker through the mist. As ethereal spheres seem to vacate, a disturbed melody guides a path into the low-frequency behemoth that is 'Nt'. Driven by its intense groove and sonorous sub-bass emissions, the erratic lead staccato does the rest to keep us fiercely bouncing to Icicle's percussive pulse. 


As if it could get any hotter, we flip to a promising B-Side only to be proven wrong twice. Initiating the ceremony with 'Shout Me' - haunting female choirs entrance amidst the thunderous sense of anticipation. Evolving from intricate breaks to straight shut-down maneuvers without skipping a beat. In a final, fulminant outburst, 'Noughties Riddim' goes on to wrap up the masterpiece in a most mischievous fashion. Cutting through the noise, profoundly satisfying mid-range distortion surges flare up in the distance, while continuous pressure continues to evoke cries for rewinds.

Ladies and gents we have the honor to present to you, the infamous Mungk! His talent, determination and sound design radiate so much weight that they are capable of forming their own gravitational fields whose forces are capable of reaching even the so-called "Garden of Eden" - a mystical place from which many stories, legends even, originated, but only the ones with truly "Ancient Wisdom" know the truth behind it. Some might argue that there is still tangible proof regarding that mythical garden which is hidden inside one of the worlds "Basilica". For the last tune we welcome back Duckem with his take on "No Man's Land" celebrating his second official release on the label.

A veteran of the dubstep scene since it’s inception in early 2003, you couldn’t get better credentials for being a dubstep legend than Cyrus. Born and raised in the home of dubstep, Croydon (UK), home to fellow pioneers Skream, Benny ill and Benga. Indeed his story is almost identikit to his peers; djing drum and bass and then garage, honing his skills on pirate radio and local club residencies, the then 18-year-old got hooked on making music and had early success drawing major label interest. From there, Cyrus decided to shun the expensive professional route realizing he could get his own unique sound with a DIY set up. In 2003/ 04 with limited places to release his dark, brooding, boundary pushing take on UK Garage, Cyrus started his Random Trio Production imprint and launched the Lost City Ep, a track Hyperdub head honcho, Kode 9, battered at dubstep institution Forward. Having found a sound he could call his own, Cyrus’s perseverance paid off landing a regular slot on legendary pirate Rinse FM in 2004, and alongside Hatcha and Kode 9, was one of the only DJ pushing the dubstep sound. Perfectly placed, there was no shortage of interest in his sound. Cyrus’s brutally minimalistic, hypnotic and cavernous sound is beautifully captured on his critically acclaimed album From The Shadows on Pinch’s Tectonic label. Further releases with Chestplate and Deep medi have helped to cement his reputation as a key producer. And, It was no surprise when one of his more cinematic tracks featured in a major film. Indian Stomp appeared alongside Digital Mystikz and Kode 9, and also rather impressively, John Lennon, on the soundtrack for Children of Men. “The track was originally to be used in a hit US TV show, so to be told it was gonna be used in a blockbuster film was surreal.” A main fixture at all the top dubstep nights - DMZ, Sub Dub, FWD - Cyrus has also DJ’d the world over and the desire for his sub atomic bass weight is constantly in demand. In August 2008, he was asked to be part of Mary Anne Hobbs prestigious Generation Bass show on international BBC Radio One, a vital and important platform for dubstep. With regular Shows on London's Kiss fm and more recently being added to the bbc radio 1 xtra "daily dose of dubstep" rosta with the full chestplate family. Cyrus continues to support and release the best in underground 'dubstep' music.
