This recording is essentially all the riffs I am going to use for my song False Martyr. I've been working on this song for a really long time, but I felt as though it were missing something, but I think I'm getting there. The quality probably isn't that great; I didn't mix, EQ, or master anything. It's pretty much just DI tracks from a Digitech RP350 with an Airis Effects Savage Drive in front of it. The guitar used is a Schecter Damien Elite 7 with EMG 85-7 and 81-7 active pickups. I will probably fine tune things later when I get a better idea of which order I want the riffs in. This is essentially just a template. All the riffs I want to put into this song, although the last section of riffs I may not include because they don't really fit, but I felt like recording them.

    Most of this soundcloud will consist of snipets, riffs, ideas, and the bare bones of songs I am working on. My goal is to have a full demo finished by the end of the summer, probably about five songs or so, all written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and produced by myself. I'm new to pretty much everything aside from noodling on the guitar, so I'm assuming a lot of it is going to sound extremely amateurish. Nonetheless, this is what I have to offer, and a project such as this has been my dream as far back as I can remember. I don't know what genre I would fall under, but for now I call it Buttmetal, Progressive Metalcore, and Melodic Death Metal, as that seems most fitting.

Kind of a non-sequitur, but somewhat related, one of the things I enjoy is watching the bonus clips in a skate video. Mostly because they show what a skater has to go through in order to get a trick, which is a lot of bails. Essentially, my soundcloud will emulate that, as a lot of what I will post will be bails. You will hear me struggle with songs, timing, production, and everything in between. Hopefully, it will result in some songs that are the culmination of all my efforts and meet my expectations.

    At any rate, I hope you enjoy what I have to offer, and those who follow me I thank you. I imagine you will see somewhat of a progression, and if you don't I have failed not only you, but myself as well. Any constructive criticism is welcome, so long as it doesn't fall under the trolling umbrella.  My wish is to give back to the music community, as it has given so much to me. DIY recording was a senior project I embarked on in highschool, and I half-assed it, and even though I got a good grade I always felt that I cheated myself out of something; now is the time to make it up to myself, and I hope some of you come along for the journey.

For those interested in gear: 
--Recording gear: I use a Focusrite Scarlett Solo as my interface, Cubase LE7 as my DAW, and a digitech RP350 processor for tones and drum samples. I imagine I'll graduate to better and more specialized devices, but this is essentially my starter kit.

-- Guitars: I have an ESP LTD V-350 (18v Seymour Duncan Livewire active mod) tuned to drop b, an ESP LTD F-50 (Crappy stock passive pickups--probably going to do a swap soon) tuned to drop C, a Schecter Damien Elite 7 (EMG 81-7 and 85-7) tuned to drop G, as well as a Blueridge acoustic tuned to drop d. 
 --Strings are either Elixer, Earnie Ball, or Cleartone. 
--Mics and amps: haven't mic'd any amps yet, but when I do it will most likely be my Marshall 100HDFX (head) with a slant cab. For micing the cab, I may use my Scarlett Studio CM25 compression mic, or I might use my Tascam DR-07 recorder. 

Any suggestions in relation to gear, especially regarding what I already own, are more than welcome
