Sequence music are proud to present the 4th instalment of our introspective VA series. For Vol.4 we’ve decided to do something a little different and collaborate with Dutch social channel Techno Releases. We're big admirers of the work Techno Releases have been doing in the scene, so curating this album with them was an easy decision to make. We have brought together 9 tracks from 12 talented artists from across the globe that we feel truly represents the best of forward thinking melodic house & techno.

Since we founded Techno Releases almost three years ago, our focus has been to support both upcoming and established producers from around the globe. Being a part of the global melodic techno community and constantly witnessing the passion that it keeps on giving is exactly why we continue to love what we do. 

Since the very first posts on Techno Releases, Sequence has been a label that we’ve admired and collaborated with. It’s safe to say that being asked to co-create this VA was and still is a milestone for us that we won’t forget. We want to thank all producers that have been a part of this journey and to the Sequence label for this amazing opportunity. We couldn’t be happier with the result… This is Introspective Vol.4, enjoy!

Clubsonica Recording opens the month of November by welcoming Bemannte & Bruder back to the label for their debut EP.  Hailing from Ireland, the duo first emerged in 2021 with a series of releases via longstanding UK imprint Stripped Recordings. Bemannte & Bruder now make a welcome return to the label with ‘Amongst the Stars’, alongside remixes from Analog Jungs, Andrea Cassino and Mayro.

Comprised of three distinct and equally compelling originals it is the sleek sounds of ‘Amongst the Stars’ which set the tone for the release. Here they flex a deeper side of their repertoire with a clever coax of chunky key-changing grooves, hopeful voices and trance-inspired melodies to lift the mood of any dancefloor. Selection two ‘Beyond Infinity’ lands with a bigger, bolder and equally magnificent feel. Beefier beats and warm free flowing grooves lay the foundation for playful chord stabs and buoyant percussive arrangements to carry energy into a heartwarming break. The duo showcase their melody crafting prowess once again, with an uplifting lead emerging across the centrepiece, perfectly crafted to send people home with a smile. The third and final original ‘Headcaver’ finds the Irish duo composing with a strong sense of space. Shifting their modus operandi further into trance-inducing territory, Bemannte & Bruder’s energetic drive and hopeful optimism perfectly setups a break of retro-tinged synth swagger, as percolating drums and aquatic melodies unite for a colourful apex and rousing finale. 

Returning to the label for the first interpretation of ‘Beyond infinity’ are Analog Jungs. Made up of Argentinean artists Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte, Analog Jungs have been revered figures in the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade, earning the praise of the genre's tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. The duo's colourful, club friendly sound flourished as a result, finding a home on some of the genre's trendsetting imprints, such as Mango Alley, Meanwhile, Or Two Strangers, The Soundgarden and their own recently launched Constellation Music imprint. Clubsonica has also been a regular landing spot for Analog Jungs, with the duo recording an EP and remix since making their label debut in 2020. Channelling the spirited energy of the original, the Cordoba duo craft a tough, energetic, dubbed out dancefloor journey, one which excels through its great use of crunchy rhythms and icy pads. 

The second and final interpretation of ‘Beyond Infinity’ is provided by Andrea Cassino who returns to the label for his second appearance. Andrea lays claim to an impressive discography highlighted by releases via Sudbeat Music (as Nocturna w/ Danny Lloyd), Balkan Connection, Meanwhile and Proton Music. The world's top tastemakers have also noted the Italian's production prowess, with John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J all chiming in with support. Taking inspiration from the original, the Buenos Aires resident remodels the track into a smooth slice of electrifying progressive house. Complete with capsizing basslines, hypnotic rhythms and orbiting effects, it's a smooth energy-rush aimed squarely at the dancefloor - one where Andrea operates at his creative peak. 

The release concludes with Mayro making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Headcaver’. World class DJs Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Miss Monique and Nick Warren have all taken a liking to his sound. Striking a balance between supreme club dynamics and cutting-edge electronics, Mayro takes the original's distinct melodic theme and presents it in a darker, more unpredictable monochrome, all while percolating effects and hopeful atmospheres continue to deliver much-needed dance floor curveballs for the more adventurous selectors out there.

D-FORMATION is Dimas Carbajo, the owner and main exponent of BEATFREAK GROUP, a business alliance which is proud to include, among many others, the first Spanish record label of underground electronic music , BEATFREAK RECORDINGS, which has been conveying this national music style to the entire planet since 1997.

With over 25 years in his career path, both in worldwide booths and music studios in his role as a producer, D-FORMATION is one of the most respected electronic music artists across the world. Proof of that is his album 'MADRID' for YOSHITOSHI, (Deep Dish's label), which was launched in one of the most prestigious compilation series of the industry, being the only Spanish artist featured in it so far.

When he was barely 17 years old, he was awarded the first prize of the Spanish DMC DJ championship for two consecutive times (see file) and as from that time onwards his work was indefatigable not only as a megamixer for numerous Spanish multinational music companies, but also travelling around the entire country with his DMC gigs.

When he was only 23 years, one of his ever greatest projects came about and that was founding his first record label, MD RECORDS, which revolutionized the then electronic music market and positioned itself as the best Spanish label with the best electronic music for many years.

In 2003, driven by the professional need of giving a change not only to his career, but also to his own music style, the great artistic evolution came into being and with which he continues to work these days: D-FORMATION.

As from that moment onwards, his rise as a DJ and producer was and continues to be unstoppable, achieving and securing the recognition and support of the great majority of the underground industry from Tech and Progressive House to Trance itself. And all that was due to those melodic tinges, intrinsic and inherent to his tracks, which delighted and made wonders with artists such as Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo or Deep Dish, which also enabled him to work for important record labels like Sony Music, Virgin Records, EMI, Beatfreak, Tusom, Toolroom, Yoshitoshi, Frequenza, Nervous, Twisted, CR2, Stereo Productions, Monique Musique or Baroque.

Numerous prizes as a DJ and as a producer granted by the industry vouch for all those years of his professional career, although it is noteworthy his #39 position in the Top 100 DJs of the prestigious DJMAG magazine, the highest ranking that a Spanish DJ has ever achieved (see file).

Nowadays he combines his work at the studio with an almost permanent tour across the best festivals and events in the entire world such as Space, Amnesia, Privilege or Pacha in Ibiza, Ageha and Womb (Tokyo), Zouk Club (Singapore), Pacha Cielo (New York), Stereo (Montreal) Sirena (Brazil), Ministry Of Sound (London), Paradiso (Amsterdam), Queen (Paris), Pacha Sharm (Egypt), Space (Miami), Avalon (Los Angeles), Space of Sound or Fabrik (Madrid), SOS Club, Cindirella Club, Absolut Club, Feelnet Club (China), Evil Club (Seoul) or Stadium Club (Jakarta), at which he has shared the booth with as renowned artists as Marco Carola, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Loco Dice, Hernan Cattaneo, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Nic Fanchulli, Chus & Ceballos, Dave Clarke, Layo & Bushwacka, Sharam, Victor Calderone, Technasia, Michel De Hey, Booka Shade or Umek.

In 2014 Beatport has regarded and included D-FORMATION as one of the most important artists of the last decade, along with great names who has also made history such as Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Sasha, John Digweed, Nathan Fake, Guy Gerber or Dave Seaman (see file).
