JAZZED UP is an unusual piece of work: A cross-generational hybrid Swing and Jazz, with a touch of Electronic Abstraction thrown in. 

D.G.X. comes from considerably different backgrounds, but there are clear commonalities in his approach. Earliest works have been devoted to groove-heavy dance beats, but since 2020 D.G.X. has increasingly focused on the expressive dimensions of melodies and sound-sculpting. He proves that held notes can be as transporting as the most dazzling compositions. Showing different ways in which timbre and texture are just as crucial as melody, harmony, and even rhythm—that is, a mutual fascination with the properties of sound itself.

Usually when we talk about the kind of repetition and sonic detail that are central to this new Single “Jazzed Up”, we talk about the fusion of the two styles that have been gathering steam over the last few years, culminating in a bounty of recent recordings with a sound that feels particularly timely. After the focused horn sounds stretches and before the final thematic melody, there’s an amazing interplay within the rhythmic structure. The compositions are perfectly balanced and the mix is unhesitant and strong. This shows D.G.X.’s openness to different musical directions and a passion for blending creative genres and tasteful exotic rhythms of different provenance. 

It’s exactly what playing skilled piano traverses do to a song, by adding improvisational elasticity with more succinct on the solo segments, hands out a spirited swinging propulsion for most of the song.

Although D.G.X. is known for his upbeat peculiarities, he’s also quite adept at crafting darker serious and intriguing material. Case in point: “City Drip”, a commanding and catchy instrumental whose initial influx of keys and echoey chants foreshadows its peppy core. Along the way, electric Guitar strums, Handclaps, Strings, Harpsichord accentuations, and sound effects complement D.G.X.’s trademark electronic resolve. While it’s a fairly normal structure, it’s nonetheless a gripping musical sequence, as it demonstrates how well it can fuse it’s emotionality and it’s eccentricity into a song.

D.G.X.’s New Single - Over Driven is a Dark, Seductive, and Decidedly Slick Song for a no-noir thriller "Drive" sequel movie, if they ever made one.

D.G.X. responds with an endearing retro-futurist score using the same 80’s replica plug-in synthesisers from the movie Drive which is coated in a minimalistic ambience of dissonant strings, metronomic shivers and synth-driven sounds, along with experimental beats. D.G.X. produced these sounds in order to mimic the vibrant style of the soundtracks to the movie Drive. The result is a gripping electronic song, reflective of the action but never intrusive.

Effective and memorable song needs no introduction to new music that works on its own or transport you into the world of the film. This song follow such a similar format, you could almost mistake them for the work of a band playing together. feels like a perfect encapsulation of the film's juxtaposing moments of benevolence and beauty.

The first few ambient sounds together with the stompin bass and electronic beat tell us that D.G.X. has taken the audience to a slight different destination from his previous release “Over Driven”. But there’s no ending here, the song just flows effortlessly over into a simply brilliant sound design! You just have to keep on listening. “Stompa Flow” is also interesting because it gives the feel that the song almost sees to end half way through, evolving to some sweeping pads and catchy synths, making this song a very promising opening or closing Soundtrack indeed.


“Stompa Flow” is only around a 6 minutes song, but it feels much shorter. This time construction gives the listener time to breathe through the song and appreciate all the sounds fused together. There is some small nice funky guitar segments here too, together with the different beats produced, the song has an energetic, yet subtle atmospheric vibe and it brings with it a feeling of self orientation & guidance.

Completed his Bachelors & Masters degree from University of Brighton & SAE Institute in Music Production, Sound Technology & Sound Engineering in the U.K. Since then, Daniel Da Silva gained a lot of experience in the music industry, specially within the electronic scene, working for StompaPhunk Records, Underwater Records and a nightclub called Audio in Brighton. Started his journey throughout various tasks and positions elevating from Promotion, Marketing & Events, Label Management, DJing and finally to Production.

Daniel, now known as D.G.X. worked for a Film Production Company & Cinema Studios, Cinecittà in Rome, as Sound Engineer and Music Producer on a few short films and documentaries. This gave him the opportunity to explore in depth the recording, editing, mixing & mastering of live performances in addition to connecting more with live contemporary instruments.

After establishing the bridge between music technology & instrumental composition, D.G.X. started exploring the performing side as Dj & Producer which led him to travel, perform and produce 'House Music' for different labels and venues around the world, absorbing their music cultures and music appreciation from Portugal to the U.K. Italy, Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Mexico 
and Miami.
