A strong set of original productions and remixes have not only launched Beatman and Ludmilla to the top of their genre, but have also made them firm favourites with Paul Oakenfold. Having heavily supported them in his sets and compilations, as well as employing their remixing services several times (Tokyo, Resurrection) The prospect of a debut single caused mass hysteria in the Perfecto office.

Enter “Bazantar”, the first original production from Beatman and Ludmilla on Perfecto Records. It’s breaks, it’s massive, it kicks like a rabid donkey and it has a huge eastern vibe with enough bass to hit the brown note. Oh and did we mention it features and enormous remix from Mr Oakenfold?

'Shakedown' upholds the Bristol/London duo's menacing message as we're instantly sucker-punched with nagging middy notes, subtle bass tears and a pensive build-up. Forbidden Society Recordings presents ''Prophets Of The Doom Remixes Part 1'' this remix pack contains
some of the Forbidden Society cuts reworked by some masters within the genre. The release opens with a hypnotizing ''The Clamps'' remix of the label anthem ''Street Justice''. The staggering drums work great with the bassline and intrusive synth blips. The emotive ambiance hat is introduced throughout makes for a great alternation. Second up is signature snare-man ''Donny'' who delivers a banging reword of Forbidden Society's BWM. Hardcore Drum & Bass music at it's finest,  it's all about the drums in this one. South African duo ''Counterstrike'' come up with a remix for ''Sellout''. This is a peak time rework, placing the emphasis on top notch drum-breaks and some funked out elements that  should strike a chord with lovers of the label. Hallucinator are reworking the ever so dark ''NYC Punk''. This fast paced theme is pumped up a notch with great care for the original. Label regular ''Katharsys'' does an adventurous reword of 'Skullcrawler' which stands out in originality. The pack is finished by S9 who creates havoc with his tremendous ''Outlaw'' remix. Forbidden Society Recordings at it's best with an undeniable all-star line up.Watch out for the part.2!

We figured it was time for some d&b again, we had a few tracks lying around for a while that we wanted to finish and put out and we had 2 collabs that went well together. We wanted to call it the 'Tryhard EP', cause all the tracks were so full on. Then Nik & Karol (khomatech.com) started on the artwork, and couldnt really come up with anyuthing cool with that name, so we decided 'Imperial' was a better name. The artwork took about a week to make. We are very proud of this EP.

Imperial w/ Phace 
Phace came out to Groningen again, as he tends to do, to do music. We started this one without working on the main groove first, Florian had brought this awesome chord progrssion. We made the intro and progression from it, which is quite different musically from our normal stuff. Then we went a bit theatrical with the music, i guess we kind of suprised ourselves with the intensity of the drop. But it was refreshing to do. And it´s been going down rather well in our sets..

Tryhard 
This is an older track that has had quite a few incarnations. It used to be called ´lomp´, which translates to crude, or blunt. We had it lying around unfinished for a long time, and a certain youtube set rip was getting a lot of love, so we figured we'd finish it. Changed the mix, added a rollout section, etc. One of the inspriations for this track is Bad Company - 'Dogfight'.. such a sick tune.

Dustup w/ The Upbeats 
Our friends The Upbeats came down to Groningen amidst one of their Europe tours and we hung out, got in the studio, found an old unused bass riff, used it in the buildup, recorded all of us going 'HA' and 'ZU', worked on drum fills for a long time, temporarly called the tune 'Pumpers', jumped around in the studio and voila! 'Dust Up' was born.

Containment 
This track has had many faces also. It started as a bit of a Kemal tribute and and an attempt to do as many things with synths as possible, like the main drums for example (FM8). Along the way it became a journey back into the dark spacious sound of early 2000 era D&B.

We're not even close to recovering from the sonic assault of Technique's twentieth-anniversary 'Remix LP' but the follow-up strike is already upon us. We've seen classics from the back cat get the treatment from the likes of A.M.C, Bladerunner, Marky and Digital, but now it's all about looking to the future. With ten brand new killer tunes, the Technique Recordings gang are already setting a benchmark for 2020.

And, judging by this album, the picture of what's to come is multi-hued and multi-faceted.

The break-focused future-jungle tear-out of Drumsound & Bassline Smith's 'Ruffneck Soldier' – already a tried and tested deejay weapon on dub – sits alongside the cinematic expanse of L Plus's 'The Planet' and the controlled aggression of NC-17 and Exile's 'War'.

As if to emphasise the variety, No Concept's Kerizma-laced 'Electrify' rubs shoulders with Tantrum Desire and Youngman's 'Precision', offering us a horror-influenced stomper and a soul-meets-staccato dancefloor workout respectively. And that's before we even get into the contribution from DJSS, 'Only Get Better', blending subtlety and savagery in equal measure.

This is Technique's 2020 vision, setting out a blueprint for the type of beat and bassline science that's going to be lighting up drum 'n' bass dancefloors over the coming months. Building on the hard-earned legacy of twenty years in the business, their next two decades in the top tier start right here. Essential.
