3 QUESTIONS to DOUGLAS GREED:

Q: The insiders know that Douglas is not your real name. So what´s the secret behind your artist name - if there is a secret? 

A: I used the be a little bit of a DOUGLAS COUPLAND fan boy. So I thought it would be a nice idea to call myself Douglas. 3 years ago I met him in hamburg, it was actually my birthday. I told him that he inspired me a lot and that I call myself Douglas because of him - I think he was a bit scared of me that moment. 


Q: During the years lots of people were talking about "move to Berlin, it´s the center of electronic music". Why did you not leave your hometown to follow the mass?


A: The place I live in Jena is a nice and easy going small-town in east germany. It´s all green over there - so why should I move to berlin?


Q: You had past releases on huge labels such as Freude Am Tanzen or BPitch Control. What can we expect this year?

A: I got a new project called EATING SNOW with my buddy MOORYC. We will release our debut album in september on Freude Am Tanzen.

Heute präsentiere ich euch die talentierte Künstlerin Bouba aus dem Libanon die seit ein paar Jahren nun in Berlin wohnt. Aufgefallen ist mir die extravagante Musikerin durch einen Podcast bei Serafin Sinfonia und seitdem freu ich mich über jedes neue Set das von ihr in der Wolke landet.

Anlässlich unserer Afterhour Sounds Mensch Meier Party hab ich dann Bouba gefragt ob sie nicht Lust und Laune hat bei unserem OpenDecks Theaterfloor zu spielen und sie hat sofort begeistert JA gesagt. Hier nun der fantastische Mitschnitt und für den Podcast noch um ein Intro ergänzt ...

Mit ihrem eigenwilligen Still schafft es Bouba immer wieder eine ganz außergewöhnliche Stimmung zu erzeugen. Danke Bouba für diese wunderbare Winterblume und meinen Hörern wünsch ich viel Freude bei diesem überragendem Set.

Q: You recently signed to KOMPAKT. A dream became true?

A: Haha - well, I feel like I’m dreaming. I didn’t only just sign to Kompakt, I feel like I found a new home for myself and my music. The entire Kompakt team has been so wonderful. I feel extremely lucky and very excited for what will come in 2018.

Q: Tell us about your selection. How did these tracks find the way to your heart once?

A: This was way more fun to put together than expected. I ended up recording precisely 100 minutes for your no. 100 series which I thought was pretty cool as I didn't intend to do it. I put my set together in a way to present my journey from 1998 all the way through to my first release on Making You Dance Records (as Ańii) from early 2016. This gave me the opportunity to go back in time which brought back a ton of memories! I hope that after listening to my set that you will understand a bit more about me.

Q: Which Anii projects are coming this year?

A: I’m taking it slow for the time being as I am very excited about my first Kompakt 12" EP which is out in March and already working on another release for them. Right now I am doing a remix for a really cool Indie band Cults which should be out in late-January.

Nicorus & Shlomsen at Watergate (19.05.2018, Berlin)

Well it took some time to come but here is one of my sets from last july at Nowhere in Spain !
As always it is such a pleasure to play for Garden of Joy and their incredible soundsystem ! And it really feels like home !
That was such an amazing night full of burners on fire and a special occasion since it was as well for the birthbdays of Manon and Ralph ( that we can see on the front left ahah). Hope you guys enjoyed !
And I hope that it will bring back people there !

DOBé’s signature sound transmits emotion through soaring memories although you have never heard anything quite like this before.
His shows are characterized by dark acoustic elements and deep sounds that subtly transition into a more melodic rhythm driving his audience into an euphoric mood. His music can be described as Techno with borrowed elements from Deep Tech and Melodic Techno which make a very groovy and hypnotic mix. 
With his first releases he immediately got the support of established producers and DJs like Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Ilario Alicante, Township Rebellion, Paco Osuna, Electronic Groove and Ibiza Live Radio among others and entered the Top 20 Beatport Techno Charts after just one week. 
His initial breakthrough came when he was chosen to do a Remix of the Grammy Award Winning Song ‚Baraye’ which started to turn heads and polarized all over the world!
