To mark the pending release of my upcoming joint EP with Mineral (forthcoming on Omni Music on 28th August, here's my 'Helsinki to Hampshire') mix.  The mix includes all 4 tracks from the EP, alongside my forthcoming remixes of Synthforce and InTake for Default Recordings, a first play for my remix of Woken Balance's track 'Andromeda' (forthcoming on Metius Music), and my solo track Like Minds (Out now on the fantastic Sonic Landscapes compilation on EC Underground).

The first part of the mix focusses on cinematic dancefloor sounds / atmospheric and jungle, and then things switch towards a jazzier direction for a bit towards the end, including a sneak peek of a joint track with my Codename: Amen co-owner Rome.

Streamline (Sw3rv3 - Mobile Unit) Drum & Bass Session

Sometimes I have little time to vet, sort and update playlists with new music I want to play on LLL. But as an obsessive music collector, part of the fun is diving back into the old archive to pull out older tracks or even revisit ones I've avoided playing before for whatever reason. This particular LLL session has a good grip of new stuff in there, but also some gems from a few months to a couple of years ago. All of it got thrown in the blender. Upbeat driving liquid with some darker liquid, into some minimal rollers and some runnin' dubby stuff, deep tech rollers, sc-fi liquid bops, and some uplifting sounding stuff at the end. Still amazed how the character of a track changes shape when framed in a new context...

Liquid Lovers Lounge (EP70|AUG27|2022)

This was a fun Twitch sesh with the LLL chat crew. My boy @metapattern raided in early on after his epic first stream from his newly set up home studio. I eased into things with some deep and melodic jazzy lead-in tunes before moving on to some energetic and rolling feelgood fare. Dipped down to a darker vibe for some machine soul at the end of the first hour. Brought the energy up in the 2nd hour for a bit of a rolling  tech party vibe before dropping back down into soulful territory at the end. Overall I was pleased with the arc of the set; might have flubbed a couple of mixes where the energy didn't quite match from track to track, but perhaps I'm being too self-critical(as always). I really enjoyed my time on the stream. Big up to the homies coming thru with all the bits and channel subs. Your continued support def keeps me engaged. The first day of October was a nice crisp fall day in Athens, Ga despite earlier forecasts predicting lots of rain (my heart goes out to my Florida brothers and sisters who endured some brutal weather this week). I wanted to tap into this higher vibrational space by pulling some warm, analog, funky, heady music for this week's stream. Several classics made it into the mix alongside lots of dope new music. Some jazzy numbers at the beginning, then a fat dose of classic style chunky liquid funk DNB, some atmospheric jungle and some deep rollers in the second hour. It was a joyous feeling affair, hanging and shooting the sh*t with my LLL crew in the chat.

Next week I'll be out of town on Saturday, so I'll have to cancel LLL for that day. My plan is to make it up on Sunday Oct 9, which is my actual birthday. I'll make an announcement on the socials once I have some exact timing details to share.

D:RC came up DJing (mostly drum'nbass) in the mid-90s while attending the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. As founding member of the local Phungus, Playtheavy and Sleuth Empire crews he found himself at the center of a burgeoning rave scene, collaborating with friends on dance music events in the Athens/Atlanta areas and beyond.

In 2004 he founded Studio:Machina, a graphic design practice geared towards the music industry. Building on his behind the scenes expertise and keen artistic instincts he's become an in-demand contributor on artistic projects in a variety of media. He's toured the US as member of the Smookie Illson bass music trio, serves as creative director for the Chicago-based Illeven:Eleven Recordings label and functions as brand/art director of several nightlife concepts. 

Behind the decks he currently heavily favors the sounds of DNB, but brief forays into breakbeat, house, UK Garage + Bass and dubstep are not uncommon. Get to know.
