'Assemblage' - a study of reconstructing analog formats in the digital realm. The track is composed of 36 individual 1/4" tape loops created on an Akai reel-to-reel. The video is animated from 1000 frames of 35mm film, shot using a Lomography 'Lomokino' camera. Physical editing was applied to both formats before digital reassembly. Sonic and visual artifacts have been preserved to highlight the process.

Assemblage

Reflects on the increased distance between individuals due to social distancing and travel restrictions. Includes field recordings from my parents’ home in Sydney & fragments from the essays ‘On going a journey’ and ‘Why distant objects please’ from William Hazlitt’s Table-Talk.

Drone Sculpting

This show is a snapshot of a creative engagement led by Artists Amy Boud and Dominic Smith. It is the first of two shows that document activity that took place at Talkin Tarn, with a group of participants from Carlisle Sight Support, a charity that works with and supports blind and partially sighted people living across Cumbria.

In this show, you will hear a mixture of conversations, activities and field recordings made as part of this project.

This show is a snapshot of a creative engagement led by Artists Amy Boud and Dominic Smith. It is the second of two shows that document activity that took place at Talkin Tarn, with a group of participants from Carlisle Sight Support, a charity that works with and supports blind and partially sighted people living across Cumbria.

In this show, you will hear a mixture of conversations, activities and field recordings made as part of this project. As part of this activity, the participants explored the concept of deep listening. You will hear us exploring the woodland at Talkin Tarn, using some devices made by Dominic that he called ‘Sonic Cameras’ to record and share sounds from the environment.

Warmest Regards is the first single from the Fishery Commission's returning E.P. "Four Under Three". 

The track addresses the concept of the overwhelming bleakness facing humanity, with the firm belief that the planet will one day fight back and overcome the mess we have made of it. 

Mort Garson meets 8bit over a heavy dub sound system to accompany a set of songs written by a late night torch singer.

My linux won't boot so I'm presently forced to use Windows, and because of the bug in Soundcloud's system my account is all messed up when I don't use a VPN to connect which I am unable to do now... trying to get help from my VPN provider.  Because of this, and because I started working very long days I will be less present here.  Sorry, I'm trying.

Ever since the closing of this account by error by SC two or three months ago, this problem has remained unfixed.  Soundcloud and their AI are apparently still working on solving this and other problems with this account, and with my other account ; )

2024/01/29:
What I wrote below was heart felt but presumptuous and pretentious.  I would have to not be stupid myself to be allowed to claim such a thing.  More importantly though, I don't believe it is correct or accurate.  These people are probably not stupid but just don't care.  Justice is a collective thing and many if not most people seem to live in bubbles.  It is perhaps economic oppression which is responsible, they just don't have the resources, the time, the energy to be concerned about what lies behond that bubble.  It used to be fine but there's this thing they call globalization which makes this increasingly impractical or impossible.

mid January 2024:
Justice and vengeance are not the same.  Apparently most people are too stupid to see the difference.  Unfortunately it is not something unique to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and not unique to group conflicts.

What happened to intelligence?  Aren't we supposed to be the "intelligent" specie.
