The Last Thing You Ever See

Well, there was a time, some years ago, that I thought to know a thing or two about percussion, rhythm, music, theory, and so on.  As it were, I'm diving deep in to Logic Pro X, and this emerged - a single-sit-down study of polyrhythm and melodic percussion.  That business is still in my head I think, and fun to create too! :)   The Ill-Fitted Shoe and Other Truths, a Percussive Study.  Yep, that it is, and my first Logic published tune.  Enjoy!

Event Horizon

Many years passed when finger did not meet, and thus forgot, fretboard. Guitar came a'calling. This is an impromptu, if not inspired, very first test after pulling Les Paul from its cardboard vessel. Me thinks it wears well. Understand, hadn't played in like 9 years at this point, so precision wasn't a factor. This ain't about riffs, it's about getting fingers around the fretboard. This is a reintroduction after nine hard years of no guitar, for which I call this...Hard Time.

Almost the last day of 2017.   Poured myself a short single malt...neat...and sat down at the piano.   Didn't play at first; instead just sat and thought about the year past and the year ahead.   Took a few sips, started playing, found chords, plucked strings and swung sticks - mixed it all up and put it here.   The last gasp of 2017... ;-)

Short Pour, New Year

When the pandemic emerged, like so many other artists, I thought to venture out, take video of empty streets, and make a film short.  The video never materialized in a productive way.   This is the beginnings of the accompanying soundtrack.   It's really no more than an opening theme and a 19\8 passage, but might have developed further had I carried on with video footage - which i did not.   So - it is left at this.  I guess i should mention that "19" is derived from "Covid-19", and the 19\8 Djent center...  Thanks for listening! :-)
