Meet Barisone: a true tastemaker whose sets are almost as beloved as the man behind the music; and for good reason. Between his curation of the Wake the Town party series based in Portland, OR alongside local dons PRSN and Danny Corn, his status as a household name in the underground electronic music community up and down the West Coast, and his impressive resume of performances everywhere from Shambhala to Burning Man to Bass Coast, it was only a matter of time before we had him on mix duties for Booms and Claps. Every Barisone mix has an entirely unique feel to it, but his signature sound always shines through, no matter the context, and the same can certainly be said for BnC Mix 035. Neptunian Influence Podcast, Twenty-Five | Featuring @taylorbratches

In anticipation of the third annual Neptunian Influence party during Movement in Detroit, we are delighted to present a mix by one of the DJs who will be serving up your musical brunch! Feast your ears on this Detroit-inspired soundscape for which Taylor Bratches says she put her "best electro foot forward."

A lifelong poet and dancer, her relationship to rhythm is intimate and ever-evolving. By creating dynamic sets that range from breakbeat, electro, IDM and leftfield techno to more polyrhythmic and arhythmic varieties of dance music, she seeks to curate an experience for the mover that is both embodied and transcendent, terrestrial and extraterrestrial. She curates the podcast Walking and Falling, an extension of the Chicago-based / Smartbar-affiliated collective and mentorship program for female-identifying and non-binary DJs.

Catch her at our party in Detroit this Saturday, May 25 alongside Carlos Souffront, ADAB and Leesh. On June 14, she'll debut at Smartbar alongside Powder, Kiddo & Sassmouth for Walking and Falling. 

Taylor and I met at the Walking and Falling mentorship program in October 2017 and we've been friends ever since. Cheers to our friendship and musical bond!

Recorded live at Mezzanine, before we had to let it go less than a year later. 12 years of Dirtybird Quarterlies - same crew together on the home turf SF.  (justin martin, christian martin, worthy, j.phlip, claude, and later ardalan was the final to be initiated). 

Shout to our sound man! Mike Lee: the Funktion-One wizard! he leveled it up every freakin' party. He also made this recording for me - so freakin sweet. So grateful. 

The dirtybird Quarterly club party was the one piece that was under the control of the whole group essentially.  And so it turned out to be our one only time capsule to survive through all those years of changes.
