Formed after a heavy night involving cards and red wine, D.u.K are a young and exciting six-piece folk ensemble playing a mixture of traditional and contemporary Celtic and Scandinavian folk music. The sextet, consisting of four Fiddles, Piano and Double Bass, is made up of one Englishman and five Danes, hence the genre of their music. Each of the musicians have either graduated or are still studying at the Music Conservatory, Odense, Denmark which is indeed where they all met.

Having played their debut concert in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, back in 2010, D.u.K has since gone on to play concerts and ceilidhs in both England and Denmark and have recorded some of their tracks which were featured on the Danish ‘Ungtrad Upcoming 2010’ CD. As well as using original compositions and modern arranging techniques, D.u.K definitely don’t forget their strong roots and traditions and quite simply use raw groove and swing to create an eclectic mix of foot stomping music, from slow lyrical Danish airs to driving jigs and reels.
