These are the remains of a crossover band called Doomsday Device (with oo instead of 00), which existed from 2003 to 2005 in a small village named Hackenbroich, not too far from the better known cologne in germany.

It all started when audio-engineer-to-be (SAE) Horst needed some musicians for his final exam in audio recording. Quickly a project band was formed, consisting of Horst himself (bass guitar), Diaet (vocals, noise, in the sunset of the project guitar as well), Friemi (guitar) and myself, Orchidius (drums).

At this time Diaet's office was next door to the Hackenbroich outpost of a Düsseldorfer recording studio, where his uncle "Blinten" worked. Hence we were in the fortunate position of being abled to rehearse in their recording space. For Horst's exam we recorded a cover of Faith No More's "The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies" (see below). It's been hell of a fun and next, as it happens ever so often, one thing led to another and we decided to give it a shot. We rehearsed more, this time Mr. Bungle's "Slowly Growing Deaf", before we felt confident enough to write our own shite. Der Nasenmann (keys) and Kachte (background vocals, percussion and honorary assessor) joined the club.

Throughout the bands existence bucketloads of weed and beer were involved, so we only managed to create five pieces of music of our own, whereof only three of 'em could be banned to mini disc with a single stereo condenser mic :-) One ballad named "The Loss" and another track called "Smile Today", which I personally consider to be our biggest track, could not be perpetuated to this day. I still have the project files though, and a couple more. So maybe some day...you know what I'm sayin... ;-)

Anyway, some differences in priority, as well as closing and demolition of the outpost stopped the bands activities and we never got on. There's still some merchandise available though...

Every few months or so, somebody asks if I still have the old stuff, so I thought I might put it up here just as well.

And finally before someone asks: the name „Doomsday Device“ was inspired by the Futurama episode „Time keeps no slippin'“ :-)
