very similar to Lorian's theme in ds3, interesting.

my favorite things about this piece are how it mirrors Ludwig's theme, with it starting more measured and composed, playful almost, and then devolves into an inhuman chorus of wailing voices and erratic beats. The other thing I love is that this also reflects Maria's character and her headspace. the fight begins with her confident, sort of feeling out your fighting style with a playful waltz, dancing around each other. but I becomes apparent that she can't beat you, and resigns to give into the power of the blood she disavowed years ago. She lets the vileblood in, let's the memories of her horrible deeds back in, let's the nightmare flow. the voices then entire the soundtrack, drowning out the measured waltz, the best that kept Maria sane in the end. and by the end of the fight, she has devolved into wild, heavy swings, becoming the thing she feared the most; inhuman.
