Mixed by label stalwarts, Loadstar, RAMlife showcases the very best contemporary releases from RAM, providing a glimpse into the genre’s evolving sounds courtesy of both established figures and the new breed of drum & bass stars that RAM prides itself upon.

RAMlife contains upfront tracks from RAM’s own bassline deviants DC Breaks, as well as the dark and tenacious compositions of Frankee; all names featured serve as an affirmation of the independent label’s ongoing prominence. Opening with the VIP mix of stomping anthem ‘Bomber’, you can expect further exclusive cuts from The Prototypes, D Bridge & Vegas, Dimension, Mind Vortex and Culture Shock, plus remixes from the likes of Audio, Ivy Lab and Prolix; every track pays homage to the original with a signature twist from each remixer.

Loadstar’s debut album ‘Future Perfect’ (released in 2013) won critical props from The Guardian to Mixmag, RWD and DJ Mag, from Hype to High Contrast, MTV to Radio 1 and beyond, and helped propel them across the UK and on international tours that have crossed the planet. Recent single, ‘Stepped Outside’, was further confirmation that they’re one of drum & bass’s real star turns, and their ‘RAMlife’ mix will satiate those fans hungry for ‘Future Perfect’s’ successor.

2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer. 

But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track ‘Nil by Mouth’ EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for ‘Heads Up’, it’s now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche. 

Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album’s entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released. 

The brand new cut ‘Foodchain’ from Audio sets a theme which is prevalent throughout all 27 tracks. Uncompromising yet diligently crafted, it leads you into a freight train of musicality which holds you hostage from start to finish. Zipping through to the mechanical composition of Mefjus’ ‘Brainwork’, all the way back to Spor’s heavy-hitting ‘Bullet Time’ remix; this is a no holds barred exploration of the genre’s darker side.  

But what can you expect from the man who garners such an explosive reputation across the club circuit? Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn't let you pause for breath. Following up the launch of RAM Records new RAMlife compilation series last year (which saw Loadstar offer up a platter of essential tracks), head honcho Andy C has tapped the man of the moment, Audio, for the second edition. 

Ordering an all-out assault on our eardrums, Audio collects 27 tracks from the likes of Optiv & BTK, DC Breaks, Ulterior Motive, Noisia, Bad Company, June Miller, Mejus and more, binding them together with the vicious RAM attitude that has helped the label dominate drum & bass.
