tune i made in 1993 using Sound Edit Pro on a Macintosh SE30 with SyQuest 44Mb Harddisc Cartridges and a cheapo sound sample device for the macintosh with 8 bit and 22,05 khz. "Mastered" down to a Compact Audiotape. This is the original resampled version with all the tape hiss and digital cut clicks you going to love!

No Sequencing or Midi Devices been used, just the plain sample editor Sound Edit Pro. It was just the time i then switched to Soundtracker PlayerPro for Macintosh. Harddisc recording at a time where it was just in Beta Phase and not for those with any money to buy any Pro Outboard.

Evolution Will Not Help Us Now

Drumfunk/braindance don dgoHn (John Cunnane) returns to Love Love for a collaborative 4 track EP, ‘Talk To The Planets’, alongside avant-garde experimentalist Danish friend Oliver Duckert. Oliver is an electronic evangelist and founding member of chameleonic cyberjazz group Badun, created in Århus, Denmark, but often found tuning in and out of the space-time hyperlink. John who needs no introduction at this point makes his first appearance on the label since widely-lauded 2020 album ‘Undesignated Proximate’ and follow-up 2022 remix project which featured an array of peers such as Skee Mask, Djrum, Meat Beat Manifesto and Equinox. 

What results here is a bubbling platter of otherworldly sound design full of warmth (and the slickest drum-work going!) that fully imbibes both artists’ individual songwriting sensibilities, striking a curious balance between organic improvisation and meticulously detailed programming. 

Sonically the EP could be described as hi-resolution psychedelic drum n bass as much as it could alien future-jazz, detailed and rich with mad grooves just beneath the surface. Structurally the tracks are unpredictable but not jarring, with a free-flowing quality and a pace that feels like meandering at lightspeed. Way too immersive for casual listening, this is music for getting lost in the stars. Like using arcane beat science at a ruffneck drum circle to astral project through the multiverse.
