BFR-E6- The Williams Trials, Part I

Hi! I am Nicholas DeAngelis, and I am a HISTORY FANATIC! I have spent the last several years as a high school history teacher, trying to find new and innovative ways to encourage an enthusiastic learning environment for my students. Now, on the back end of the Covid-19 Pandemic, I believe I have found my true calling. I'm not a classroom teacher, I'm just a fan of history, and I want to share my love with all of you! I don’t want to quiz you, I don’t want to grade your shit, I don’t want you to be forced to listen to me. Come here on your own, enjoy at your leisure, and hopefully learn something you never knew! My goal is to study some of the most under examined and underplayed stories throughout history and share them with you. I hope to bring new and innovative approaches to some of the most well known stories, and give a more modern perspective on them. I hope to show that there are many Great Men and Women who have made incredible impacts on civilization, however, they are just regular people. There was nothing special about them. They were in the right place at the right time and had the gumption to go for it. No, this won’t be a show about World War II or the American Civil War, but it might contain a series or two that examines lesser known narratives from those events. For instance, my first series, Burning for Revolution, focuses specifically on the Colony of Rhode Island and the Providence Plantations and its role in the pre-revolutionary era. 

One of my goals with this Poddie is to show how everyone, every great man, average person, or lowly peasant are human beings, none greater than next, and all equally capable of greatness and failure. While there were powerful individuals who drove human evolution throughout history, they were all human, and all were prisoners of human instinct. It is easy, then, to understand, and even predict the motives of all people in the past. My goal is to bring the shadowed factors of the past into the light. Put yourself in their shoes, and it is not impossible to understand their actions.
